So the year is 257 in Sealtake, a settlement of The Tan Mine (founded by The Bearded Bolts) in 251.

When the "king" arrives to live at my fortress, I check the noble page to assign him to his royal quarters. Ironically, she is not a king, but a queen. Not just a queen though... A "queen vampire." I don't completely panic, since I knew this could happen. But then I look at her kill list. She has three notable kills.... in addition to 4,547 others. Most of which are dwarves.

I look her up using Legends Viewer and see she is associated with about 4,500 unsolved murders at The Tan Mine. What a coincidence! But she has only been a vampire since 151. Which means she has killed an average of 45 dwarves each year since then!

Her backstory is pretty interesting... After profaning and being cursed as a vampire, it took the dwarves nearly a decade to realize she was behind the murders. When they did, she became a tyrant over them, oppressing them with her edicts.

I'm torn between killing her in an "accident," letting her fill her macabre thirst for dwarven blood, and sealing her up somewhere. Obviously I can do all three if I make copies of my save, but I want to go with the most *fun* option for now. I do have a lot of goblin ambushes and sieges, including some that recently killed a few elven merchants, so there's enough additional fun to keep the situation interesting (I haven't breached my first cavern level and question whether my location even has one since I have mined down 36 layers).

Any suggestions?  ;D

Edit: I'm going to upload the save to DFFD and post a link later today. I should note that this is on v0.34.11 and not 2014.

Edit2: Save can be found here: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=9309

Embrace fate. Let her do as she wishes, at all costs. She IS the queen, after all.

Make a big palace outside with gold and platinum and gems and things, give her an elite guard that is also formed entirely of vampires.
Wait for next goblin siege, watch amazingness unfold.
EDIT: And by amazingness, I mean your crazy vampire queen going crazy and massacring goblins. Also, may I ask the skills?

I wish you could feed them goblins and kobolds. I end up with many, many cage traps filled with them, and I can only micromanage so many cage setups and attach to lever jobs for training purposes.

It would be cool to be able to dump the cages down into the unclimbable vampire pit for the vampire to consume at their leisure.

My advice would seal her up somewhere. Once you have enough population feed her useless dwarves. If you can order her to pick up military equipment toss some goblins in there too if she hasn't been slowed down by bloodthirst too much. Keep in mind punching is a little strong in this version so she might get killed doing this.

Every dead dwarf to her name cements her further as a traitor to the nation! Put her on trial and execute her for her crimes! Justice and sanity demand it!also she'll kill scores of your dwarves if you don't

You'll just have to breed more dwarves. Remember; in a monarchy, the monarch IS the nation. Obey the nation, for neglect is treason.

Liberate The Tan Mine from tyranny! The new succession system will pass the King/Queen designation to someone else, who will likely remove the oppressive laws.

Going with this. That queen is badass. Cater to her every whim. Provide legendary dwarves as personal snacks in her chambers.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Carve her out her royal chambers, throne room and dining room. Lock her in. In the middle of her dining room place a bed. Then every week, pick the fattest, juiciest, tastiest-looking dwarf…

One dwarf per week is actually a pretty good mortality rate.

She is a traitor to her kind and her own people. However easy it would be to bring the lead hammer of dwarven justice down on her, it will not be enough.

No, to truly bring retribution, you must do something more... Drawn-out. Dig as deep as you can possibly go short of digging into the magma sea. Construct a 1x1 box of pure bituminous coal suspended in a large, empty room. Build an upright spike with a wooden spear in it and connect it to a lever in the meeting hall. Clad your "queen" in full steel armor and force her into the box, sealing it shut and begin pulling the lever. The horrifying air quality will make her sputter and choke for all eternity while she cannot sit down without being stabbed by the spear, trapped in a dark box for all eternity. Pass the lever-pulling on as a tradition of the fortress, with or without the original reason being known to the population. For a more resilient prison, build it straight in solid rock.

Bonus points if her prison is also a well.

Assign her to a warren and if anyone goes to sleep in her chambers, it's on them.

Or drop her down a well with spikes in it and have all her subjects drink of her blood..

OR, upload the save here and see how everyone else does it
