I was awakened today by the keening sound of my alarm. I adjusted the steam nozzle to turn it off, then groaned slightly as I lifted myself out of the hard bed. I am still in my attire, coat and all. I switched on the light and the room is lit in a sickly bluish tint.

A squalid room

I am standing in a poor excuse of a bedroom. The air was damp with steam escaping from poorly-sealed valves. The wallpaper is peeling and I could see a small fungoid growth in the corner. A single thin window slit sit high on the wall, still dark. The room is bare save for the bed, the dresser next to it, a single steam dispenser anchored to a wall, and a fruit of light on the ceiling.

On the dresser is my alarm clock, my hat, and my cane. My valise is on the floor.

Slid through the gap in my door is today's newspaper.

Prince Drago's Murderers Elude Capture. Relationship Between Albion And Bohemia Strained.

Last week, Prince Franz Drago, heir to the throne of Bohemia, had been assassinated during his visit to Albion in what would soon to become the most ominous murder case in the history of Albion. Although most of the details had been withheld by the Police, it was reported that he was found dead in a rooming house of undisclosed location. He was eviscerated with a surgeon's precision by the assassin dubbed as "The Limping Doctor" and his accomplice, dubbed "The Tall Man". They were later discovered by Inspector Lestrade to be Dr. John H. Watson and a performance artist known as Sherry Vernet respectively. Both of them are still on the run despite the vigorous searches by the Police. Rumors was it that shoggoths were employed to track them.

Prince Albert had assured Bohemia that the killers will be found and put to justice swiftly, but now it seems like they have made a disappearing act...

The rest goes to describe the fury of the King of Bohemia and his insistence that the Queen of England herself personally participate in the search for them, obviously ignoring the fact that she can hardly leave the palace without driving a dozen of unlucky fellows who would glimpse her insane.

I pitched the deck at the fruit. It bounces off harmlessly.

I hit the fruit with my cane. It burst open in blue, fluorescent goo which I barely avoided. Almost immediately, a new fruit sprouted on the ceiling and the glowing goo dissipated.

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: I was waiting in a cheap rooming house in Shoreditch while my friend Holmes lured the Prince in with the promise of a woman he had kidnapped to give to him... nay, it to corrupt. As soon as it dropped its guard, Holmes bound it fully to the material plane and I proceeded to deprive it of its vital organ. I removed all of its limbs and cut it into fine pieces just to make sure it is dead.

It was just a weak Elder God, easily killed. This was just to send a message, after all. Holmes wrote 'Rache' in its green ichor afterwards and we fled the scene.
