adamantine armor
« on: July 30, 2014, 08:42:29 pm »

I wonder if I would be able to use adamantine armor I made in fortress mode on a human Adventurer or would I need to use a dwarf Adventurer to use the armor I made?

Would have to be a dwarf, and also the contents of your fortress is likely scattered all over the map.

Pretty sure it'll show up as small. Though possibly an elf or goblin could use it? Not sure but I think they are same size.

ok then. I was thinking I would likely need to use a dwarf size Adventurer in order to use it.

I wonder if there is any way to get a set of Adamantine armor for a human adventurer.

Mod humans to be playable in fort mode.

I think I might just work with a dwarf adventurer when I am done making the armor and hiding it.

I have yet to see one of those fortresses. If I did find one I would like to try to invade it just to get to the sword. Even if I might not care much about the sword itself I would still like to try getting to it.

1. Go to creature_standard.txt
find [BODY_SIZE:12:0:70000] in the  [CREATURE:HUMAN]
2.change 70000 to 60000
3.60000 is dwarfsize. So dwarf armor will be normal(not small)for you now. Load game and wear adamantine dwarf items.
4.Save game and change size back.
5.Your weared adamantine armor will become human-sized become small but still equipped.

EDIT: oops.. sorry. My inattentiveness. How I had not noticed that it become "small"?

This will also make humans a lot weaker in combat, since they don't have the attribute bonuses dwarves and elves have to compensate for the smaller size.

You could do what I do

make a adventurer mode reaction that makes adamantine armor

That way you don't even need to make a fort

3While you 60000 grab dwarf armor and wear it
4.Save game and change size back(to 70000).
5.Your character and weared adamantine armor will become human-sized(70000)
Game does not save weared item size. It will always think, that weared item size equal to its user's size.

Oh... Right...
I don't think we can make wearable gauntlets in adventure mode (I'll try testing some things in the meantime)
 (I'm done... I'm so done...)

What about bracelets and rings? Would those be suitable replacements?

Items actually store in the game data the race of the creator, so the armor will always be made by dwarves. You just end up wearing "small" armor.

Try starting a Human fort (requires entity modding).
