I have no idea what that word means.

Its like love, but hate. Especially potent arch-rivalry is the best analogue.

It's not exactly hate actually, it's more focused on detestful pity. Hate plays a part sure, but the pity is the main emotion.

Well we certainly aren't pitying them, I think.

I had an idea, lets inform our energy prisoner of our little prank, We have the info on forgite already, he cannot speak to anyone in his prison, and if he has a sense of humor, it may aid in diplomacy.

Maybe we should try to tickle the energy person?

As a long term plan, when they discover our treachery, cut off communication for several weeks and grow giant pieces of useful crystal inside of their base, while spying on them for instances of crude gestures of their race to shape the crystal into.

Cycle 57

After some adjustments to the formulae, and some redactments (The sneaky Alteri had been rather subtle in his falsifications), you end up with a match, or close enough to one. The forgite (and with it, the forgitar half-crystals) should be fabricatable now, although its hardly a cheap material at 100k energy. It should also be easy enough to upgrade yourself with it now, although that will likely take an entire cycle to do with the proper carefulness, so you store the thought for now and go and mention what you've gained information on to the Chained, who hums for a bit but says nothing more on the subject. So instead, you work on exploring further, and the first step there is to claim the rock beneath you, followed by a quartet of forgitar crystals.

After that, some consolidation is in order; it is time you started thinking in clusters, not simply single crystals. You note the cavern below the reactor is still there, and still slightly bigger than said reactor. You claim most of the area next to it, followed by a cluster of Farseers to scope out the surroundings. You start grabbing more stone after that, curious about where the large caverns are from.

Suround the core with forgite like so, for protecting it and can expand into when upgraded:

.......
..FFF..
.F...F.
.F.C.F.
.F...F.
..FFF..
.......

Design a variation of the Storage Field using forgeite to let the energy be safely compressed to extreme levels.

Couple quick questions: could we make optimized crystal clusters that consist of one or two different types of crystals that synergize well, rather than just being groups of 'normal' crystals?

And also, how are you doing scale? I ask cuz' if you compressed the image 90%, a 10x10 pixel block would be 100 base blocks, so...not sure if we're losing efficiency or what...I thought it would be a 67% compression, with the extra 1 equivalent being explained as more efficiency once you get to this level, with clusters.

Also, presumably, at Scale 3, they will be called Sectors. No idea beyond that, if we ever get there.

Also, forgite armor can be a 'project for later'. And preferably be a simple(ish) sheath around our Core Crystal that doesn't require metric butt-tons of energy to fabricate.

As for supreme storage capacity, I already came up with the design for Quantum Energy Storage.

Speaking of which, our Arms Crystals feel outdated by now.

New Crystal Time! In a bit.

The scale is mostly just for simplicity over making great sense lore-wise, because while numbers are helpful and making sense also is good, I am only so good at numbers. ;) 1 block in Scale 2 is 10 blocks in scale 1, and scale 2 crystals should be roughly the cost of 10 scale 1. I'll get to Scale 3 if/when we get there. Things can be retconjurated if needed if the scales get out of whack too.

For Clusters/Sectors, I've been using the two as the same thing, just sounding better for some types or crystal or others. I can be more consistant if thats confusing however.

Also yes, we could make combined clusters. Combine the two types' points would be what I'd say for those, although they can be modified afterwards if that makes them more expensive than what they'd need to be.

I'm mostly just thinking of things where you only need one crystal in a cluster, like with research oversight crystals and the like.

Hmm. Perhaps just add the cost of the single crystal (without upscaling the cost first) to it and mutiply the main crystal type by 9 instead of 10.

I'll think over it more later when I'm less tired from AI War.

No. Love is pity. The spectrum goes from hate to the watered down form of hate known as pity matespriteship is pity kissmisitude is hate.
