For reference, this is just the outside of the structures that we can see. Unless the sentients are the buildings, we aren't actually touching them yet.

Pre-cycle 19

A loud *PVOOMPT* comes from the direction of the humming about the time the solar object comes into view above the Core, followed shortly by a loud explosive sliding sound as some large discharge of energy strikes the ground far to the left of both Core and the outpost. The sound and dissipating energy are then followed by some sort of terrorized nonsense you do not remember hearing before.

I'mma suggest pouring some 6,000(effectively 8,000 thanks to the Outpost) energy into the partially assimilated invincitite. We might seriously fuck up the Low-Q crystal in the process, but the Outpost should help keep the energy focused away into the invincitite, rather than it leaving. I want to see if we can full assimilate it and use it for something.

Do not refine or assimilate the structures. Not yet. We do not want to play our hand this early. Build a Farseer crystal near the Invincitite, after we've assimilated part of it. Repair any damage caused by our energy dumping. Begin mass assimilation of matter in our vicinity, excepting the smooth rock structures and the surface. Build Farseers on the ends of our spurs out from the main Feeler Crystal arrangement.

You're pretty much right on the knife edge of the max durability the low-q has there, but as long as it stayed untouched until its (carefully) repaired, it will probably hold together.

That works. *shrug*

Even if it wasn't the case, that would still be what I wanted to do.

Conflicting suggestions slightly in favor of not surfacing more, alright.

Cycle 19-a
The blast, from what you can tell, seems to have done very little damage at all, despite its ominousity. Well, in your opinion; the razing of an entire structure at once is probably a significant loss to whatever is making that noise. Deciphering it is not a priority to you at the moment, so instead, you focus on the issue at hand: Invincitite resistance. Plans for scouting also had occurred to you, but any current crystal cheap enough to scout with is not durable enough to withstand the solving of the problem. You haven't checked if the outpost is either, but its based off a refined, so its likely to survive fine.

...And survive it did. Interestingly, the longer the energy was redirected back into the partially-assimilated invincitite, the worse the vibration got, until it hit a particular frequency, which then started it humming the familiar hum you know when things are properly aligned. Despite this however, about half of the material refuses to interact with energy pulses in any way, while the other half resonates with the pulse in an...odd way. Not exactly sight, and not any other way you remember the Prime Crystal having. What is shows is that there is a significant mass of very precisely aligned wiring and electromagnetic components inside this wall, as efficient as the crystal you constructed the Outpost from, but not quite up to par with the core. Careful pulses to trigger more of the tech-echo reveal that this is probably the source of the energy resistance, but it is nearly impossible to break into via precision (or as you've seen, blunt) energy manipulation short of bruteforcing its integrity or short-circuiting the electromagnetic components. You can feel a consistent pulse of power within the material, but it is a wild sort of power restrained only by conduit, unfocused towards a purpose, the sort of power that leaks out of dead crystalline post-battle and celestial bodies alike.

Whoever built this material has had an extremely long time to refine their defenses against their own favored kind of energy weaponry and a power generator likely to take all its surroundings with it if unleashed without restraints or precision energy redirection. Not the best of signs. You do manage to find the inside however, so you repair the Low-Q and use some of the cycle to start deciphering the terrified nonsense.

It took longer than I thought to make this turn and I'm kinda tired, so I'll add the mass assimilation on to whatever you guys suggest for tomorrow instead as 19-b using the remaining energy from the turn. :)

That pillar in the cavern is buttfuckugly, I suggest we do something to make it 1) more esthetically pleasing and 2) more structurally sound.
Also assimilate the matter below it, not going deeper but more laterally for now.

We should also convert the feeler tendrils into something more useful at some point.

I propose we semi-assimilate more stone. A significant amount of it is going to degenerate soon, and we need more power to assimilate it.

So is attuned invincite actually our crystal? Like, could we build off of it?

I propose we semi-assimilate more stone. A significant amount of it is going to degenerate soon, and we need more power to assimilate it.

Also, continue trying to decipher the nonsense.

We could build off it, but 1. its surrounded by other invincitite b. it would block energy production that goes on with only it as the link to the core and 3. its still only like, half crystal. But the last of those is more being picky than actually being relevant.

Cycle 19-b
[previous cycle completion]

Cycle 20/21
The decipher is put on hold as as the rest of the semi-assimilated rock is cleaned up and new rock is assimilated.

Cycle 22
You add onto the cave structure to make it less skeletal and more structurally stable. Once thats finished, you plan on continuing to decipher the nonsense next cycle unless something important comes up that uses the whole thing.

While the new Med-As. did happen over two turns, I'm not separating it for the sake of easier maths, since it all happened in one turn and the only difference is one turn of energy from the second half I'd have to clean up in the middle of a future turn the cycle after the first half was about to degrade. Not worth it to me.

As for converting feeler crystals, if you're downgrading to refined, its half the feeler's cost. For converting to/from other crystals I'll sort it out later.

I say keep exploring underneath it first. People will get suspicious if we aren't careful...

Continue assimilating matter of all sorts. Well, actually, refine the low-quality matter that isn't on the surface into crystal. We should become a solid continent of crystal soon enough.
