Cycle 14
Rather annoyed at the large cave under you, you acquire ground and go explore the smooth rock structure's area instead, and find more of them on your way towards the most left of directions. From this revelation, theres likely some sort of non-crystalline here, using your rocks, making them all flat and structural and unaligned, instead of geologically generating power. The idea would also explain how tough the Invincitite is to energy blasts, but the two together don't mesh. What kind of creature would use rocks for buildings when they have such a material on hand? Is there more than one group, are one of them ruins...

While pondering xenopsychology, you also think about whether it is worth keeping all of this assimilated rock around half-finished or if you should just scrap the losses and collect it all now. You get quite the mass of energy out of it right now, but its not stable. Perhaps you will have a solution by next cycle.

I would've gone further left but the map is getting kinda big unless I split it up again, and then I'd need to combine it again later, and so on.

Although do refine at least enough that you don't lose connection to things. That would be awkward.

Also explore the cave moar because wainot.

Cycle 15
You spend a cycle solidifing your hold in the cavern and converting the scouting assimilations. The rock assimilations are left alone for the moment. In the meantime, First Outpost reports a humming sound from the otherside of the invincitite.

Cycle 16
Cavern exploration! You start near the floor, but not much of note shows up aside from empty space and rock. Perhaps further ahead, or closer to the ceiling?

Cycle 17-18
You clean up some of the nearly-degraded rock before exploring some more of the cavern. This time you start near the ceiling, and since you know whats above the cavern already (for the most part), use a duo of farseers to look downwards into the cavern from their vantage point. Midcycle, First Outpost reports the humming has stopped.

Do not refine structures. THere is clearly sentient life in them. We don't want enemies, yet.
