Cycle 4Energy: 4,600
A quick trip upwards reveals the storm still in progress, as the return of the thunderous noise makes rather clear. Also a swarm of some sort of mobile tiny things tried to pull your scouting end out of the ground, failed, and moved away across the ground. In the direction of the wall however, you see a flat surface sticking out of the ground. Thats about all you can see in that direction, as its a fairly tall obstruction. So you move on to finishing what you started, and align the assimilated matter with the general structure of a Low Quality crystal.
Cycle 5Energy:4,830
With that taken care of, you dump 500 energy into the new substance to see the reaction. It heats up very quickly, but also cools back down about as fast with no apparent effect on it. More energy is required, it seems.
Scouting to the left reveals a large hole and not much else.
