"I will watch over your friends. Please, stay safe."

Lyra returns, carrying a longsword and dragging a Hollow corpse.
"This sword is likely old. The symbol on it, at least, is very, very old. Curious that it is still intact. Anyway, you said the fire gave you the impression it wanted something? It has burned down to coals, here is fuel for it." She nudges the corpse gently with her boot.

[Nerjin]

The Knight looks at the corpse for several moments before he gives a nervous chuckle "The fire does not burn dead bodies." as if to prove his point he picked up the corpse and placed it's arm in the fire "In fact, it does not seem to burn most things. Don't place yourself in it however. It will harm you. Resting near it is perfectly safe but... Placing your hand inside is unadvised." Oscar took off his gauntlet. The fingers of his hand were as decayed as the parties flesh. The rest of his hand, however, appeared a healthy ebony color.

[Silthuri]

"Aside from you, what has the fire burned?"

[Nerjin]

"I'm afraid I don't know."

[Silthuri]

"Are you undead as well? You look alive, but your hand does not."

[Tawa]

Ryurist is conscious by this point and merely listens to the knight, waiting for him to get to the point where we go and beat up more stuff.

The gnome seems disappointed at the dwarf's lack of response, and tucks the leaves into his hair again, trying to make them look like they never left.
"You said you were a bearer, right? What is your name? Mine's Rayt."

[Tawa]

Realizing his faux pas, Ryurist looks to the gnome.

"My apologies. I am Ryurist. I have trained in a monastery my entire life, and I have seeked to bring justice... to our sad world as much as can be done before my... failure."

[flabort]

"Failure? You mean being thrown in here?"
The gnome smiles as if realizing something.
"Oh, wait, I got your attention! Here, do you want these? They'll help with your remaining injuries."
He takes the leaves back off his head and hands them to Ryurist.

[Nerjin]

"When I set out on my journey I looked just as my hand but... As time passed I became more and more human in appearance. As my conviction grew I grew more human. Drive is humanity I have found... Er, well... Sanity I suppose would be a better way to phrase it."

At Ryat and Ryurist's exchange the blue knigh shifted a little uncomfortably "Oh... Yes. We most likely should give our names. We may be dying together soon. This may be our last chance to have someone remember us. I am Oscar, of Astora."

[PrivateNomad]

The elf girl is silent. She isn't much of a talker, it seems.

[Tawa]

"Yes... please."

Ryurist accepts the leaves.

[Silthuri]

"I am Freda, the Bard from Nowhere." The elf says quietly, seating herself by the bonfire and strumming on her lute. "I used to make my living travelling and performing. Only twice was my Bearer nature discovered. Once gave me a scar. Twice gave me a knife in the heart."

[Nerjin]

Ryurist feels better as he munches the leaves [+5]

"In Astora we are not treated quite so... harshly. Several high ranking clerics have been found to be bearers. They are often sent of quests. Speaking of, may we leave soon? I'm certain that all of you do not wish to stay here any longer than needed."
