I use Darkling too, so yellow stands out fine. Oh well.

You mean navy? Blue shows up fine in darkling. Navy requires highlighting. But cyan shows up perfectly fine, which is why I favor it.

Blue shows up.

That doesn't mean I can read it.

It also doesn't mean it doesn't make me want to gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon.

Navy, on the other hand, doesn't show up as well, but it doesn't injure my eyes unless they're already sensitive from whatever reason, and I can read it, with effort.

Cyan shows up nicely, but on normal it burns almost as badly as blue does on darkling.

Seriously, blue actually manages to blur due to my brain not wanting me to stress my eyes by seeing it unblurred. Or something.

I prefer neutral tones, that can be seen in either setting.

That's why my drunkard sorcerer in the 3.5 over in the PWYB section speaks in light blue.

As a combination of the ocean theme, the fact that he's old, and you can actually read it.
