I was considering making a tool to use the art, yes.

Once I get time, I'll start with a simple utility to pull as much info as possible from DF about a creature and display it. Then it's a simple matter to chose what to display.

Mostly it's a matter of motivation for me :D

I see, if so I can make graphics and share them with you when there is new parts ready. As I'm bad at coding it would be great if someone assembled art that I'll make.
What do you think about such cooperation?

Coming back to engravings, would it be particularly hard to use this art in stock poses (in 2d)? Certain paintings come to mind, and, i must admit, graphic novels.

There's GIMP or Photoshop for that! :D

Ooh! Could it be automated, or would it be fiddly? And when i say graphic novels, i mean fight scenes.

So you would like to use art from Visualizer to compose engravings?
I think this dwarfs are too static for something like that, they need to have some poses, different angles, etc, to look good.
I'll share final version of this dwarfs anyway and anyone would be able to use them.

Fantastic Work!

Would it be easier to draw them in these poses then to render a 3d model?

I think it would be easier to make them directly in 3d and make composition based on engravings.
But it's a lot of work.

It would be amazing if this would work tandem with Therapist.

Because therapist already have one big portret like empy box above names of dwarves and portrait would fit right in.

When I'll finish all elements everyone will be able to use them and generate portraits.

Also - Feedback is appreciated, about how should look some of them, etc.

It's much harder to make emotions without changing assets for each emotion, and making all possible combinations of emotions*styles is too much.
And if emotions will be shown only by move/rotate existing assets it wount look not so good I think.

Would you be happy to do the "big ones", whatever those turn out to be?
