One of my starting seven amused me by liking pigs for their snorts, after laughing about this I also noticed that she likes elves for their grace. She likes pigs for their snorts and elves for their grace! Normally tossing an elf-lover into the magma is a straightforward solution but because this one also likes pigs for their snorts I just don't know what to do. I have embarked with a couple of pigs in case they are needed.

Isn't this "grace" the short prayer that more religious elves say before eating their captives? If so, then it is quite a valid reason to like elves. I'd prefer to be eaten with some thought and attention than devoured in a barbaric and uncaring way.

Capture all the elven traders in cages and build them in her room until they go insane/starve. Nothing wrong with having a preference for one exotic pet over another. Or militarize her, give her good equipment, and make her kill them as they go insane. Harden her for duty by making her kill that which she loves, and keep her sane by giving her the solace of snorting swine.

^^ This.  Except they won't actually starve or go insane.  And since they're elves, they don't age.  They'll just stay caged forever.

are you sure? I remember it used to be the case, but I haven't tested it in a few versions. Mostly because the caged elves don't live long enough before I find some way to give them !!FUN!!.
