You guys. There's a gigantic eyeless dove and a three-tailed cat duking it out in the caverns. Is this awesome y/y?

Neat, but likely a bug as forgotten beasts come from the same faction and normally should not be hostile to each other.

Also, I'm thinking of arena combat...  Keep the Dwarves happy by letting them bet on their favorite  FB in the arena, then let them watch in horror at the eventual outcome!

I think that they behave the same way. Whats the best way to start a loyalty cascade early on in the game?

In my fortress, the Forgotten Beast Enure Cuquimotharama was slain by the Forgotten Beast Guslo Gusloongkosm Orukakusm, who was in turn slain by the Pond Grabber Uzônggâxu.  (These are the names after their respective victories, obviously.)

i have also had invaders chase wildlife around, i defiantly suspect that loyalty has been tinkered with.

i will attempt to reproduce (and weaponize) in the name of !science!

Does that mean taming Kaiju Forgotten Beasts to fight other Kaiju Forgotten Beasts? Or at least building an arena in the way of the entrance to the caverns to force invaders to face a FB?

Does any of them emit toxic fumes or something? Maybe it is attacking everyone around, inadvertently.

Yes, I had two FBs both jump out of the well at one time.  One had an AoE and they ended up fighting each other until the militia could get there.

I feel bad for the janitors, since one of them had noxious secretions, but since the other one was made of sapphire he could just pocket the fragments and come out ahead. >

The dove had deadly spittle, and the cat had a venomous bite.

The cat killed the dove, but the dove's spittle turned out to have a necrotic syndrome, so the cat died of blood loss soon afterwards.

Had that happen once in pretty unlikely conditions. An FB spawned on the edge and just sat there (nothing to path to), then a tree grew up, locking the thing between itself, another tree, map edge and a sheer cliff face. Then another forgotten boogaloo came by right on the next tile. As a result, there are two FBs completely stuck in two adjacent tiles (neither had wings), and since all creatures hate small confined spaces, both had been half-heartedly fighting each other for years. With no way of shooting them, caving them in or other ways of ending this safely. Talk about annoying.

According to the wiki, FBs fight eachother normally, no matter how much space or secretions there are.

forgotten beasts are hostile toward each other and will attack any wildlife or civilized creature they may encounter - but with careful micromanagement, the opportunities are limitless.
