Bats are the best. Especially vampire bats, which are incredibly social, to the point of commonly adopting young who lack parents. Also, their ears are the silliest-looking violations of Euclidean space I've ever seen.

Also, I'd like to point out that Litten's fire comes from its hairballs. It barfs fireballs. You can't tell me that's not an improvement over normal hairballs. 10/10 best cat pokemon since the first gen.

To be fair, these ones can only hunt fruit. They are deadly predators of mangoes.

My favourite thing about vampire bats is the way they bounce around on the ground like fuzzy excitable little ping pong balls. Most bats can only flop or crawl on the ground, but vampers can run and jump and go boing boing boing.

Now I'm slightly sad because I tried to find a video showing this off but all the ones I could find were 95% focused on the blood feeding and trying to make them look scary. ):
