It would not be.

  you would test the stimuli against another similar one.
Let's say you and I put in our money together to buy a bird.

-I make you clean its cage.  I make you feed it.  I let you talk to it.  I let you pet it.  I let you play with it.  While I call it names and throw socks at its cage and rattle it.
-Now, you walk into its room, or otherwise enter its perception.  Good.
-Now, I walk into its perception.  Bad.

You misunderstood the issue - scriver's point is that it does not prove the reaction to the stimulus is voluntary as opposed to reflexive.

Which is a silly distinction, really - we couldn't prove that for *humans*, and we're pretty good at understanding how they work for some reason.

Nah, the child would be either a Growlithe or a Wailmer, depending on which of the breeding couple were female. Assuming Arcanine and Wailord are compatible in the first place.
