The only reason I don't get rats as pets is because... they live too short.

They also poop a everywhere but in your neighbours garden.
It's why I prefer cats, actually.

Would want some if they cleaned their own cages though. That would be pretty sweet.

Rats are highly intelligent (one of the most intelligent pets) and rather tamable. You could easily train it.

You can litter-train rats pretty easily, actually. They'll still pee everywhere though.

My sisters had mice.

They were cute but they indeed pissed everywhere. They never lasted long either.
