Regarding issue 0007161 on the bug tracker...
« on: July 24, 2014, 01:33:08 pm »

Just wondering if this issue is still outstanding for version 0.40.4

..

Maybe I should ask this in a different way, is anyone experiencing this problem on .40.4?

Please/Thanks

incidentally the issue is that most (all) entities appear to be too cowardly to engage in combat

For me this is gamebreaking and I'm just waiting for it to be resolved so I can dig into .40

Thanks,

It should be mostly working in the next version, as Toady fixed a couple of bugs related with morale, but we have to wait and see.

For a temporary fix, giving everything you want to make less pathetic a natural skill in discipline and/or bumping the bravery trait distribution up towards the high end fixes this nicely.

Either by writing a script to edit the raw files or loooots of copy pasting.

FYI, you can follow what bugs have been fixed for the next version (or previous versions) here - you don't need a login.

>main DF WIN folder
 >data
  >raw
   >whatever folder contains the sentient creatures (you'll have to figure out which one this is)
Add [NATURAL_SKILL:DISCIPLINE:3] (you can use any number from 1-16 in place of 3, 1 being dabbling and 16 being legendary) to each of the entries that you want to be more disciplined.

Note that I'm just going off memory here, so I could be a bit off.

Thanks very much ShadowHammer

0.40.5 was just released, I don't see this fixed today but thvaz mentioned that some morale tweaks were made... Can anyone confirm if this behavior remains unchanged?

Thanks for your time!
