Guys.

Stop me.

I'm about to break D&D.

I want to play a Truenamer.

With 40ish Intelligence.

For those of you who don't know, Truenamers are WOTC's biggest mistake. Ever. Your 'spells' are based off of a skill check, and they bypass saves, AC, and everything else, except for Spell Resistance.
Basically, if you build normally, they are tier 7. Yes. They are worse than commoners.
If you build power-gamey, they are tier 0. Yes. They are better than wizards.

As I'm writing this, I've decided that I don't want to have to deal with a Truenamer.

I'll play a Dvati (a race where an 'individual' is two creatures) rogue, built around flanking.
If I give you a Candle of Invocation, will you promise not to mention the word Truenamer?

What word, and where's my candle?

Remember that if you're going to be playing a race that isn't native to the Vale, you're going to need to give some sort of backstory explaining what the hell they're doing there.  :P

That said, I really like that rogue idea. And of course I can rule 0 anything too broken. I was hoping I wouldn't need to do things like blanket ban planar binding and related shenanigans, but if I have to I will.

Rolep: You can post any homebrew ideas you like, but all I'll promise is that I'll look over them. That said, if you're trying to make a relatively normal character, you're going to get a more sympathetic ear.

Are you trying to imply that my character is not diplomatic?

Where are trolls found in Diceria? I have an idea for a backstory in mind.

Given that pretty much the entire eastern edge of the map is composed of impossibly tall, icy mountains which most certainly aren't riddled with caves or tunnels which undoubtedly lead nowhere at all....

Yeah, you're talking about twenty or thirty miles from cold mountain trolldom to Vale territory, less if the troll in question is willing to swim a deep, frigid lake and come ashore on an island populated almost entirely by arcane casters and the friendly neighborhood dragon that likes to hang with them.

Alright, that should work.

But aren't impossibly tall, icy mountains which most certainly aren't riddled with caves or tunnels which undoubtedly lead nowhere at all the natural habitats of trolls?

He'll be incredibly useful for when we have to diplomatize with them

Alright, so I we have a rogue, that's good...I either want to be a Swordsage/Warblade(I've only every played Crusaders as a ToB class so this should be different), my Shuriking Monk(suck a barrel of cocks you say? Well yes he's homosexual but he can still beat your ass into the ground), mebbe my Half-Dragon Centaur Cavalier build(it would just be so hilarious and amazing, okay?), a Swift Hunter(relatively normal, probably wouldn't even go for two-handed fighting+throwing to get ridiculous numbers of attacks; probably Catfolk, though), or...

Ummm...

Dice, how important will it be to have a healer/divine caster and an arcane caster? Because so far everyone's turning out meatshields(you've made the non-casters too attractive, damnit!)...

Hm. Thinking of a character. What's your stance on half-breeds?

I've written a short history of Krag's life story and how he came to find himself in the Vale.

Hey, Dice, what's your stance on allowing Able Learner for non-humans?

Succubus Half-Nymph anyone?

A. you can't, too much level adjustment
B. Can we avoid lurid pornographic inspired characters? Look at the artwork for Nymph and Succubus, and ask yourself, honestly, why you want to make this character.
C. Other ways of boosting Charisma that don't make me fume. Like Pixie.

EDIT: If we don't get any arcane casters, Remuthra, I'll make a Pixie.

Pixie Bard/Paladin would be hilarious and amazing.
