Go to the Colosseum, Check for anything particularly neat, If nothing is found, Use tarp and 2 planks to make a tent in the middle of the Colosseum. then put planks in a neat pile directly next to it.

To provide basic information on whatever is within my range of vision. Also does a stand alone door count as a valid Home-link?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You return to the center of the city, dragging your tarp behind you across the black cobblestones. It is surprisingly light, probably thanks to the tarp. You soon pass through the dark ark of the Colosseum.

The floor of the Colosseum is bare, the same black stone that makes up every other building, only glowing more powerfully. It makes the Colosseum look a little like a round soccer field, though there is no apparent bleachers in sight. In fact, the only thing you can see besides the arches on the other side is a single alter in the center. The alter, in contrast with everything else in this town, is made of a white material, much closer to the marble you are familiar with. It is a simple stone rectangle, just big enough for a man to lay down on comfortably, with a strange symbol in the center. Of course, nothing of this hints it is an alter, but something inside you simply tells you it is.

Or perhaps it is something outside you? You seem to hear voices here, whispers. You can't quite make out what they are saying, or even what language it is in, but they are definitely there.

What do you do now?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Yeah, a single door can count as a home link, but enemies can pretty easily ambush you or take it over for themselves.
----
You think hard, making the design for your scanner. As soon as you have the idea, you focus completely on making it a reality. A burst of steam comes from deep inside the whale's mouth, covering your vision completely. As soon as you can see again, the scanner is comfortably over your eye.

You turn your scanner toward a nearby wave. You look at a particularly interesting area, one with a group of flying fish, and point your palm toward it. With the sound of a crashing wave it immediately breaks away, the water splattering in droplets on the still-solid ground below it as the fish flop around struggling to breath.

Yell out to the darkness "Hey! Is it OK if set up a tent here? I could prolly fix stuff up around here for you guys if you don't kill me or possess me or something stupid like that!" Demonstrate this by creating a hunk of that dark glow-y stone long enough to be seen in the shape of a big ol' heart. 3 imagination preferably.

What is this...where am I? Damien wondered.

This...this doesn't seem quite real...what color is the sky?...

Damien looked up, trying to attest to his theory...the world didn't seem right, he couldn't see very far away...and he was having a hard time keeping himself focused...it was like...like a dream, almost. Strange....

Set up a permanent nanobot swarm around myself. This will be both my main weapon and my main armor. Can you upgrade something to be both at once?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You raise your hands above you hand as you speak, causing a heart of darkness to rise from the ground with the rumbling of stone. It continues rising, starting from the size of your head and continuing to expand until it reaches the size of two cars stacked on top of each other. There is a general murmur of approval from the whispers, probably "Make yourself at home!", though you do sense some disapproval. The heart then liquifies, vanishing back into the floor.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You look at the sky, seeing the same clear blue you are accustomed to, without a single cloud. The sun, or rather suns, were shining down pleasantly. Two suns, both on opposite ends of the sky, both identical in every way from what you can tell. You realize that you can stare directly at them, without anything harming your eyes, aside from a lens-flare like effect that seems to appear whenever you look directly at either of them.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

How powerful do you want the swarm to be? 1,2, or 3 damage?

You can't "Upgrade" something to be armor/weapons, but there is no reason your weapon can't be your armor or vice versa. For example, someone with a sword can use it as armor by blocking attacks with it. You still have to use imagination to manifest this ability, and focus to sustain it, as you would building armor completely from scratch.

This...this definitely isn't real...

But if it's not real, what is it?

Damien ponders his situation hazily. So...maybe this was a dream? And if it was a dream...he could do whatever he wanted, right?

But...this was a really odd dream...there was no plotline to it, like most dreams...it seemed rather more like a setting, instead.

So...maybe he should explore.

Damien scanned the horizon how he could, looking for any sign of still living trees, rather than the endless fields he was in. Not seeing any, he frowned, and began to walk either north or south. With there being two suns and all, it was hard to tell which was which. As he walks, he nearly stumbles over a bike. A...hovering bike, apparently. Well that was...odd. But he had needed a way to move more quickly, so this worked. He didn't really question it, he just got on, put on the goggles, and began to fly.

Create permanent Hoverbike. Take off north/south(towards neither of the suns).

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Again, you make the blueprints in your mind, focusing on creating each individual robot. The swarm seems to simply form out of nowhere, first a small circle of half-reflective air, soon radiating over your body in a halo of scarily noticed light several feet wide. This should do?

You then set to scanning the surrounding area for any distortions. Your scanner immediately picks up one, surrounding it with a red square. It was the water that you had just disrupted yourself, just moments before. Something tells you the ocean has always been this way, somehow.

What do you do now?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You head off in your chosen direction, the hoverbike causing the grass to dance as you fly over it at an impressive speed. Still, nothing changes, as you rush across the grass and the stumps, you still notice more in the distance with no end in sight. The only thing that changes is randomly placed "KEEP OFF THE GRASS" signs, placed at random intervals in the center of a stump.

After what feels like a long time, you begin to wonder to yourself if you are going around in circles, looking for any kind of landmark that could give a hint for next time around. While looking, you gaze up once again to the suns. Squinting, you noticed that both had moved substantially, toward you. Both feel somehow closer as well, maybe they aren't suns at all? This does mean you have made progress, though it also means you have a long way to go.

Set up tent a respectable distance, but not too far from the altar. "May this be a profitable venture for Yourself and me, generous shadow beings!" Begin searching around the outside of the Colosseum for any damaged or generally not dark enough objects, and mark them down on your mental map for later. Take one plank from the pile for self defense.

Add an analysis chamber to my monoscanner directly behind the lens. Then grab a floating water droplet and run a mor in-depth scan in the chamber.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Out of curiosity, why are you building a tent?

--------------------

You set up the tent on the hard floor the best you can. It would normally be difficult, of course, since you can't hammer anything into the ground and there is nothing to hang it on, but you find it incredibly simple. The planks of wood stay exactly in the place you place them, no matter what odd angle that is. You throw the tarp over them once they in the right location, making the tent exactly as you imagined.

You pull another plank from the pile now next to the tent, and go about looking for damaged buildings in town. The whispers are sad to see you go, seeming to prefer you staying. They stop the second you exit the Colosseum, however. You wander around a bit, seeing several different forms of buildings. One was a tall building, three times the height of the surrounding structures, that seemed almost to have multiple floors. One was the opposite, low to the ground, so much that you couldn't even fit your hand below it. A third was built on its side, allowing you to see the smooth, flat roof. But none seem to be particularly broken, you don't note any light or dark blemishes.

In the end, you don't find anything.

What do you do now?

-------------

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Do you want the chamber to be permanent or temporary? Ill assume temporary.

-----------

The lens telescopes forward, an analysis chamber forming directly behind it as it does so.

You bend down outside the wale's mouth, grabbing at one of the water droplets splashing from below. A small droplet, almost exactly like a raindrop. You grasp your hand over it and pull, but it simply doesn't budge. It is as immobile as the rest of the water, no matter how much effort you put into moving it. Tugging, pushing, even outright hitting it is simply worthless.

To claim the area, Quick question, Would a tent flap qualify as a door?

Return to the Colosseum

"Ok, for the record, I can help you guys out with whatever, but it will be slow going, i am a bit of a slacker when it comes to focus after all, any of you got a massive potentially dangerous series of events for me to take part in to remedy my discipline problem? i need to practice with these powers more if i am to make use of them for more than seconds at a time after all and i am sure you guys need something done, i didn't find any smashed buildings to fix."

Damien let out a long sigh. Wonderful...what now?

Well...he should probably see if he can look a bit farther forward...he found this hoverbike when he needed a ride, and this was probably a dream, after all...so maybe these goggles would be something special, too?

He tries to focus on the horizon, and is astonished when it comes into incredibly sharp detail, the lenses of the goggles displaying range information, weather patterns, temperature ranges...half of it was nonsense, of course, this was just his dream, but...damn, that was cool! It totally worked!

I wonder if I can do that with anything else... Damien thought as he checked the bike for compartments, and, finding one in front of him, fished around in it, before coming up with a map. It seemed to be a map of everywhere around him...as he leaned back in the seat of the bike, having brought it to a stop some time ago to do this. It had a little mark with a message that said 'You Are Here' before disappearing, right in the middle of the map. Trying to smooth out a wrinkle, he stopped when the image on the map moved in response to his touch. This...this thing was awesome! Playing with it, he found out just how remarkable it was. He could look around himself simply by sliding along the map, though always at a bird's eye view, with it displaying features that might be found, he could zoom in or out, he could find descriptions of any item he tapped, and could bring it back to rest on him simply by shaking it from side to side like a sketch-it.

Now...what to do with this information, then? Well, finding a direction to go in, would be nice...though he supposed he could just keep going. But first...he thought he'd try and take a close look at the suns, and the direction he was heading in.

Map and special goggles should be permanent, though goggles need to be activated(that should last a while still though for each point of imagination, right?)
