Worm Based RP [Early Rule Planning] [Now with helpers!]

So, I'm starting to make a little rulebook type thing, could be called an alpha if you feel generous.

Combat and Shit
   STATS etc.
      Will not have standard RPG stat growth. Barring exceptional circumstances, your powers won't change.
      Strengh etc. can still be increased. Skills can be learned.

   Fighting.
      Need to design a system that accounts for all the different types of powers and their interactions.
      May not be possible to have a dice roll system complex enough
      Might be forced to do GM logic on fights to determine results.
      Gear and shit will also provide headaches
      G E T  B A C K  T O  T H I S

The players.
   Triggers
      Players will have recently triggered, or trigger in the beginning section of the game.
      Leaning towards the second option, this is a RP after all.
      Don't make it too dark, or the toad shall smite us.
      
   Powers:
      Will be based off the trigger event and the character's emotions etc.
      Players can't directly choose power, it is derived from the previous shit.
   
   Death And Arrest
      Players can die.
      Usually they'll have opportunities to cut their losses and run.
      Different enemies will have different standards, some might let you go with just wounded pride, others... won't.
      Criminal players may be apprehended by the heros.
      Potential option to be converted to Hero (On parole) instead of being sent to the uber jail
      If your crimes are to severe, you'll go straight to inescapable super jail.
      Heros may kill you, depending on circumstances etc.
   
      


Lore and setting and shit

So, I've been considering running a Roleplaying Game over here based off of the Web Serial Worm
However, since setting up a system for that will be a pain in the ass, I want to make sure anybody will actually be interested.

It's a fun idea as long as you don't bring Endbringer fights into it. Those I never really liked much. But that might just be me.

Uh, I'll watch, but I've never read the series and have other stuff to read that will probably prevent me from doing so in the near future, so I'd be a bad player.

It's basically Superpowers + Realism done in an interesting way. It's really huge (a doorstopper to end most doorstoppers) and really grim a lot of the time, but well worth the read. So far the only things I see that you'd possibly need some information on are trigger events, which happen to people at times of great physical danger (resulting in physically-oriented powers) or great psychological stress (resulting in mentally-oriented powers). They can only be achieved non-deliberately, and happen to women more often than men. Superheroes and supervillains are a part of everyday life, sort of, and there's special government organizations dedicated to regulating them (including state-run superhero teams in adult and adolescent age categories). There's big name heroes with game breaker powers and smaller players, same goes for villains and everything in between. Everybody has their problems and there's lots of that moral grayness stuff people like. And also some kaiju may make an appearance if this is in the same setting as Worm rather than one merely inspired by it.

EDIT: Basic categories of superpowers as defined by the PRT in the original setting were Mover (which I believe implied mobility-based powers), Shaker (physics manipulation), Brute (physical toughness and strength), Breaker (touch-based Shaker?), Tinker (superhuman, futuristic technological engineering abilities, typically in a narrow field), Thinker (superpowers revolving around cognition and perception), Master (control over other beings), Stranger (the reverse of Thinker, powers that cloud minds and obfuscate you), Trump (powers that modify powers) and maybe some others I forget right now, if you need inspiration.

Also, prospective GM, I could potentially help you write up the lore if help is needed.

There actually already was a Worm RP on here. I think it didn't hold up for that long, but either way, some of their mechanics might be worth looking into, and the overall take of it on the franchise. Was placed on the west-coast if I remember right, but don't ask me what its name was.
