Updated the OP. Decided on starting equipment, which will be hand-assigned by yours truly based on occupation.

After I reveal the equipment, I'm not going to allow you to change your occupations, OK? I don't want anyone changing to [profession] because I accidentally gave [profession] an overpowered item.

Can we purchase things prior to the start of the campaign? I have some things I'd like to acquire.

Yes.

Also, you may all assume you have casual clothing, a handbag or day pack, and a flashlight. You may also sacrifice one wealth level for a PDA, which now additionally accommodates smartphones.

Tawarochir, I wanted to say;

it does in fact say what Action Points do. They're used for very specific circumstances usually relating to a talent for a specific class, like Second Wind for Tough Heroes with Robust.

My guess is that they work like Perversity as well, or whatever other fate-influencing abstraction you favor. If you want to get use out of them you can spend them for modifiers and regain them for accomplishments, or use them for rerolls or extra dice or something.

Oh.

OK then, go ahead and use them.

So, we can have basically any number of things that have a purchase DC below our Wealth Bonus and below 15, right?

Edit: Ooh, can I make extra income from Bribery?

Not, that, not that I would ever do such a thing, of course...

As the bard, I'm obligated to have the charisma skills. It's their faults.

Also, as the resident money guy I can provide items that the party may need.

Hey, I made my guy unique.
I'm unsure whether the other PC's will want him though. :P

Also, I made this, check it out.

As long as he's not actually a dick, considering we're supposed to be helping people or something, you should be fine.

No one is bartender. Makes me sad.

Everyone's PCs like going to nightclubs for one reason or another, though, right?

Seriously, it only makes sense for the plot if they already know each other.

And we are being reasonable as to how stat differences work, right? Like, 7 Charisma doesn't mean bat-shit ugly, it just means socially awkward and unremarkable, whereas 14 Charisma doesn't mean model material, it means attractive and smooth-tongued?

And 19 Charisma on the 80 year old means Barney in his old man disguise. Probably runs a strip joint.

EDIT: How does reputation work?
