So, can we buy things more than our current wealth bonus?
You can, but doing so decreases your wealth bonus.
By how much?
Depends on the DC of the purchase. Look in the Wealth section for details.
It wants dice rolls? Should I be rolling wealth checks before the game has started?
Yes, although you have all the time you need and so you can just take 20 on these things.

No, Dejavu.

You can take 10 and 20 on Wealth checks. So unless it's more than 20 above your wealth bonus, you can get it. It will reduce your Wealth by a variable amount if it's more than 10 above your Wealth bonus though(don't buy a tank).

How does that formula work for items with different costs?

Ah, I presume my character is too young for a legitimate weapon license.

Federal regulations is 18 to own a gun. Legally, at least.

It's 21 to buy one from a licensed source, but that can be worked around.

Actually, you can use rifles from even younger, if the people at my school are anything to go by.

For hunting and such.

Remuthra, don't make assumptions.

Look at his feats.

He took Exotic Firearms Proficiency. I don't even think he understands how it works fully, but he took it anyway.

He's planning to use machine guns, man. MACHINE GUNS AGHGHHGHG

I'm a bit confused on why a class with personal firearms proficiency doesn't actually start with a gun. :-\

This wealth system is confusing. Buying something cheap then something expensive costs less than buying them in the opposite order.

Makes sense to me.

Look at it this way.

You use up some of your money buying something you can afford, like a purse. Then you max out your credit card and go into debt when you get a car.

In the opposite order, your card would be rejected when you tried to get the purse.
