Biggest tree you've cut down?

My record was 54 logs from a single tree. What about you guys?

I haven't counted, but when I cut down a section of trees, I end up with a fairly even coating of wood on the ground.

Do trees continue to grow larger overtime?

Not sure, some of the tallest trees I've seen were in a jungle biome (9-10 z levels tall)

My current fort is in a heavily forested jungle type biome and there are some huge trees around. I think the tallest I have seen have a main trunk and branches reaching around 8 Z levels tall with twigs and foliage going up another few beyond that. Maybe 10 or 11 Z levels total.
