((I'm pretty sure this place is safe, at least for now. I would currently consider it more likely we would be mugged by a desperate refugee then a full on drow attack or such :P

BFEL doesn't get why errybody following him...))

Quote from: Almost Everyone
Head to Barrow Warden Kargien.

Most of the party trucks on down to The Ruby in the Rough, and barges into the headquarters of the expedition. More or less. By all accounts Kargien should look mad or at least annoyed by this interruption, but as he puts away his work his expression softens a bit. He listens politely to your request and asks when you finish talking, "I believe that Fendrick Pestle has the weapons that you require. If you tell me why you need them, then I will give you permission to take them from our stores. If it's a good one, of course."

Victor look around the current cavern we are in.

Quote
Two dozen stone monoliths stand here, arranged in a rough circle with a gap on one side. Seven of the stones, about evenly spaced, stand around eight feet tall, much taller than the rest. Each taller monolith has a vaguely humanoid shape, stooped and bent like a giant, sleeping deep gnome.

((Unless you're looking for something more specific of course.))

"The weapons are required as part of a divine ritual, that should, in theory, lift the curse over your holy rocks."

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

"You're talking about the Speaking Stones? What happened? Did Pingtu finally find a way to break the curse?"

"Ah. I see. Of course you may have these weapons." After several minutes, you now have official permission from Kargien to get the drow weapons out of storage. It's signed and has a stamped seal and everything. "You will let me know if you need anything else, of course."

"In fact, Pingtu also needs 6 more gemstones for the ritual. One for each of the colors of the rainbo- I mean, the light diffused through a diamond. He has an aquamarine and believes he needs the rest."

Kargien smiles, "What a coincidence, I happen to have an emerald on me. But... I will need you to complete a task for me before I can lend it to Pingtu."

Aw. Of course the NPCs make us jump through arbitrary hoops before we can advance the plot.
Steven glares at Kargien.

"What kind of task, lad?"

Burrow Warden Kargien clears his throat and begins,

Quote from: Kargien
"For generations, the kings of Blingdenstone ruled from the House Center. We have tried to take it back, but evil lingers around the old structure, a vile presence that prevents us from reclaiming it. We need you to drive the evil off and secure the ruins. Most of all, we need to lay hands on the crown of our last king, who died there."

"If you were to bring me the crown, then I will lend Pingtu the emerald so that he can finally break the curse on the stones. You would also be free to take whatever treasure reminds in the House Center too. Well? Do we have a deal?"

Steven glares at Kargien.

You glare at Kargien. Something seems off about him, but you can't tell what... Probably nothing important though.

Lothinenn agrees, though worries that conventional weapons may do little against whatever presence manifests in the house center
