Gender: Female
Race: Wolfkin
Description: Cara is humanoid in appearance, standing at the height of 5'5". She is a wolfkin in her youth, with a light 'cream'-colored complexion and a lithe-like body. Her face is angled in appearance and her irises are dark brown. She has deep blue eyes and one long fluffy tail.
Starting Port: Spirarbor
Background: To talk about a Wolfkin in this context would be to talk about a whole clan, with characteristics separate to their individuals and to define a member of the clan--both separate and distinct, and yet incomplete without the former. In this context, Cara is different.
The Korchaal Mountains, or otherwise known as the Hands of the Living Mother, as told onto Cara by her parents, were home to both her people and others, acting as a well of life in natural stone ever since known history spans. What used to be a volcano, and its inner chambers, hosted life for those who were able to grab this opportunity. Humans and other traveling folk communicated with the inhabitants, and those inhabitants reciprocated the actions in turn--they were known to be sentient, with some having an affinity and even an attraction towards the more civilized and harmonized tones of society that we know today.
This was told onto Cara by her parents. Her human parents. Both traveling scholars of various trade and skill, their story is intermixed with hers in all aspects of life; her life was theirs to take care of ever since she had been found along a pioneering campaign in the lower plateaus on a surveying trip for minerals and geological studies. Dubbed as their own and carrying the family name (whence their own motives and intents for same-specie children was...not fruitful, to say in brevity), she grew up in an atmosphere few would be able to match, and even less to appreciate. Her parents were traders in as much as they were scholars--curious folk who treasured knowledge more than money and other necessities to modern living (as it was often remarked in their trade, that it was purely for survival and expenses; those at the receiving ends of their trade were glad to accept the idea, given that they dealt with basic goods and capitalized on a low-price-high-availability ideology).
Her early life was said to be a mix of storm and rainbows, as one could say is expected of a being not with their clan and physical relatives. First came the storm, and only with her parents' and close aides help, did she come to see the rainbows in the midst of the gloom, cold, lightning, and rain. Her personality was tinged with the background of philosophy, and it was discovered that she had a knack with the use of her hands--ambidexterity in all manners of work--was seen, though she often confided her innermost worries and cares with her father who shaped her outlook, her mother acted as the guiding hand for her values and her views on life. Taught from the books related to her people and bilingual in the manner of speaking, it was to say that her only experiences with other Wolfkin were from those who were in the cities and urban areas; the ones rich enough and of power to migrate to these bastions of wealth were the only contacts she had with her people, and most of them argued in favor of her return to her clan.
Unbeknownst to her parents that they spoke of a ghost in the mountains, they avoided the repercussions of raising an adopted child by moving from the mainland to their origin-home, Spirarbor, where their 'meager' (as a term from a city-friend) possessions lay. They were rich in only one thing at the time, and it was in local connections: Spirarbor was their favored port of trade. At this time, Cara was nearing the age of maturity, and her parents were at the prime of their days, living in newfound peace away from the complexities of the mainlands, controlling their trade through a network of trusted men and women.
Personal Background: Living in a world half-between a home and a guide is hard enough for anyone. Cara has grown fond, however, of the many things such a life brings. Constant travel and the rapidly changing climes of everyday shifted her mindset towards a more fluid nature: she was a curious person, yet controlled like a fluid only by the teachings of her parents, lest any other influence her. She was noted to have innate potential, but as for what is still yet to be determined, as she had shown in her youth with the basic and advanced educations afforded by the populace of the mainlands. Her character is described as one of a cheery and pure nature, despite the rough experiences she faced in the company of others not from family, and of a yearning of travel: to see the world and all its wonders. Having been told of her past and its connections at the age of ten (deemed old enough to 'understand' every unspoken implication of it), it was at an early age too, that her viewpoints were moulded into a more benevolent route concerning the sphere of interaction, the ideas of a people, and the freedom of thought and morals. She is a person drawn towards beauty of the mind and character, seeing physical embellishments and features as aesthetics alone.
Currently, she aims to save up enough to travel back to the mainland and uncover more of her past, and perhaps even her future, though still interested in the place she calls home--the lighthouse of Spirarbor was always a majestic sight for her.
Trinket: A four-pointed diagonal star with a ruby gemstone inlaid on a concentric depression in the center, with embossed features and miniature, stylistic designs raising from the tips and meeting at the circle. Four symbols of runic origin are located at the tip below the apex of each point, each having a symbolic meaning for Cara.
