Climbing and Fortifications
« on: July 21, 2014, 08:08:16 am »

I'm assuming fortifications will keep climbers off of my roofs if I put them out over the edge, but I hope I can get somebody to confirm it works before a siege comes, heh.

Yep, they can't climb fortifications.

Can they not even climb the sides of them?

There are two types of fortifications, constructed and carved.

When you say they can't climb fortifications, does that apply to just constructed fortifications, or can you carve fortifications into a wall to prevent climbing as well?  I haven't tried either yet, so I'm curious.

Well I'll tell you, as soon as I get a siege.

I've had two invasions so far in my current fortress, one goblin and one undead, and neither of them seemed interested in climbing their way into my fort. I basically have a wall surrounding a channeled out pit that I'm using for above ground farms. Just simple walls, no fortifications. Maybe it's too long of a drop?  :-\
