err.. what is it? is it some setting in some config file?

Does DF start at all?

Nope: i launch startlnp, it opens for a second an xterm window, then it shuts, then i am given that error back
if i try to run lnpstart again nothing happens, as if i just press enter

What shell are you using (i.e. what is /bin/sh)?
Edit: Ah, "source" won't work if you're using dash.

A note: The Github repo for this pack has been moved. The URL for the current repo is still the same (https://github.com/Lazy-Newb-Pack/Lazy-Newb-Pack-Linux), but all previous issues, releases, history, stars, etc. are now at https://github.com/Lazy-Newb-Pack/LNP-Linux-legacy. This was primarily to reduce the size of the repo, which had grown to 120+ MB due to binaries being included (which were still present in the repo's history after being removed).

Carlo: Can you try replacing the distro_fixes.sh script with the most recent version from https://github.com/Lazy-Newb-Pack/Lazy-Newb-Pack-Linux/blob/master/pack/df_linux/distro_fixes.sh?
Edit: Actually, you'll want to replace the "df" and "dfhack" scripts with the ones from https://github.com/Lazy-Newb-Pack/Lazy-Newb-Pack-Linux/tree/master/pack/df_linux/ as well.

No output at all? Have you tried running the dfhack script in the df_linux folder?

with startlnp no output at all, maybe i should delete and unrar "brand new" lnp, so that i can have that xerm back/foreground error

as for df and dfhack this is the output after i've overwritten (ie edited them with kate) those files with those you've linked:

what is the gitub/mercury/wget command to get the whole brand new LNP ?

Did you download the latest scripts from the repo (linked a few posts above)? Those should resolve the readlink issue.
There isn't really a single command that can be used to update the pack, since binaries aren't stored in the repo anymore.
