Sorry I was traveling during the weekend. I updated the pack with DFhack R1 (gcc 4.9.1) and updated the graphic sets. Also added Afros Graphics Pack.

I am also closely watching PyLNP 0.3, as its the most active cross platform LNP under development and looks very promising.

I also updated splintermind's Dwarf Therapist, it is highly recommended if you have trouble to try to download and compile it with these instructions here.

Sorry I haven't added support for Linux yet. Updating for three systems for each DF version is too much for me. Will definitely do that when df versions will be released less frequently, or maybe earlier...

Somehow I can't run Dwarf Fortress using the LNP Starter. It opens a window (called "dfhack" if I am not mistaken) for a couple milliseconds and than closes. The terminal says "Process exited with exit value 0." .

I used all the terminal function posted in the opening post, as well as the ones for Dwarf Therapist in the linked thread. Starting Dwarf Fortress on its own functions also perfectly, as does Dwarf Therapist through the LNP Starter (tested it once). Can someone help me with that problem? My Linux distro is Ubuntu 14.04 upgraded from 12.02 with everything updated and upgraded through terminal.
Installed the LNP yesterday and also did several restarts until now.

Update: Just tested to run "dfhack" and "dfhack-run" through the terminal.

I had the same problem. Your stdc++ libraries need to be updated.
I am running Ubuntu 14.04
After a bunch of googling, here's what I did
