I'm getting lots of tree collapses on the surface. Trying to narrow down the cause so I can make a proper report.

I wonder if the constructed wall-top fix has screwed something up somehow with cave-ins, or if you got an unpleasant map.

Maybe related to the bug where:
"Chopping trees above ground level leaves soil floating in air."

Personally I would like more knives strapped to babies.

But otherwise, woo!

Maybe it is residual, maybe it is not, but a save transferred from 40.03 to 40.04 keeps it so sparring still generates a large amount of hand-to-hand combat, were dwarfs don't prefer weapons. Have not went to actual combat yet though.

What are the skill levels of the dwarves? If they are super high in non weapon skills then it may be too late for said dwarves as they will prefer the non weapon attacks regardless due to skill.

As expected there are many instances of militia dwarves having higher striking ability. But this Legendary Miner with a pick should be an exception, yet it isn't! Even with surpassing skill he prefers hand-to-hand in sparring matches guhh, not that he alone requires more skill just that it spells the plague for the rest of my militia's training!

EDIT:Martinuzz got a thread going on about this also

At the "Babies start with knives" bug, all I can think of is some badass, pregnant Dwarven woman biting into a bar of iron, swallowing, giving birth later and the baby arrives with dagger in hand, eyes open and alert, ready to fight the enemies of Armok.

... Maybe that explains Captain Ironblood?
