Ok, so this time it won't be minimalistic.
In the grim dark future of the far future, there is only war. But the war has changed. It's no longer about nations, ideologies or ethnicity. The very history has become an arena, on which soldiers can die before they were born, help can come from time non-existing, and where humanity has invented 40 additional time clauses to describe what the hell is going on.
YOU are one of the members of the Time Marines, and your motto is "We solve problems before they even arise". Who you will choose to be? What future awaits you? How many questions can there be before somebody retroactively erases them all? Find out... right now!
In year 2XXX, somebody discovers time travel. Because they did not knew about explosive paradoxes, they died in a puff of anti-energy. After 3 years of constantly dying scientists a system for time line protection has been created. It was called a Time Shield, and every time traveler must equip them, lest he/she/it be erased forever. It works by using matter and energy around the user to perfectly recreate the condition in which the user was at the destination time.
Soon after that, the reason for explosive paradoxes was found. It appeared that the time before a certain date did not exist. And that date was constantly moving forward. That date was called Zero Hour, and it became of great importance for all time faring civilizations.
During the experiments it has been noted that the changes in time line tended to propagate in waves, traveling at the average speed of 5 seconds per 1 Zero Hour second.
After that, the main area of fighting concentrated around the Zero Hour, because the one who controls the past, controls the future. All experiments attempting to reach the areas before the Zero Hour failed; none of the exploration robots returned. The reason for that was found out soon, when one civilization has achieved a local dominance at the Zero Hour and attempted to secure the future. It seemed that at the far times away from the Zero Hour, time was flowing irregularly, and at some point (approximately 3 days into the future), almost stopping. It was like time itself hasn't reached that far.
Then, the explanation became obvious. Many scientists thought that the Zero Hour cannot be the only special time-moment, and indeed, there is an infinity of Zero Hours in the time line. But because the Zero Hours were so far away from each other, you would need a lot of energy to cross that distance, and a lot of knowledge about the underlying structure of space-time to plot a correct course through the riffs of river Letha. To the modern date, nobody has achieved that feat... at least that's the common knowledge.
- You must specify a time in which you make action. It can be an absolute time (ex. 2342 A.C. 23 March 15:03: open a window) or relative to the Zero Hour (ex. in Z.H. + 5 minutes: open a window). Also, if you have multiple time clones in the selected time period, you must also specify which one will do the action. You can order up to 5 actions in one post, they can be in different times or to different time clones.
- Changes in the time line are not instant and propagate at the speed of 5 seconds/1 Z.H. second.
- You cannot travel before the Z.H. Even if you could, you would get lost in time and essentially exiled from the game.
- Any event happened before the Z.H. is unchangeable, and thus set in stone.
- Because you are all equipped with Time Shields, minor discrepancies in your condition on the different ends of the time loop can be corrected, if needed. It takes a lot of energy, though, so avoid creating paradoxes on purpose.
- At Z.H. + 1 day, time start behaving weirdly. At Z.H. + 3 days, time flows so slow that nothing can act in that period of time before they wash ashore into the more lively regions of space-time.
