I am still waiting for the show to say that everyone is a titan... or that being a titan is caused by being exposed to radiation from the world's Nuclear war before the start of the anime.

Some sort of big twist and throws a wrench into everything we thought we knew.

Which come to think of it... Why there isn't a sort of "who is the titan" type game. Where one or more people are the shifter (or one at first... and another 5 minutes in) is beyond me.

Or just a normal game, except it selects one person to be the shifter.

I have no idea about the show as i don't follow it, but the book :

It was discovered, after studying all the cases they could that all the other titans (i mean not only the known shifters) were actually all humans that got dissolved into the Titans bodies themselves, only letting some vestigial part of the spinal cord in the nape of the neck from the human that is still working as the "brain" of the creature.

And from the father of Eren early in the story, we learned that with some unknown substance you could make a human generate the titan body from himself.
So basically one of the faction, from the inside or from the outside has been contaminating large amount of humanity population , triggering their titan transformation, leading into the near extinction of humanity.
Now which faction was it, we'll see through the story.

There was a prototype story from the author just before he started his main piece, that opened by explaining that a scientific and religious group made a project to destroy mankind for "protecting their group" and are responsible of the Titans existence that destroyed most of humanity.

Is the author still using this idea in the actual serie or not i have no idea, but there's a religious faction in the story, and Eren father was obviously a scientific along being a doctor, so i guess it's just the story of a silly bid for power by both group that turned into a disaster as they became victim of their own creation .

.. like in Battlestar Galactica

I've checked wiki and it does seem that there are

ranged weapons (uber-pistols) potentially capable of hurting Titans wielded by
Anti-Human Suppression Squad. Yeah, the name's ridiculous.

So maybe someday this'll get included into this game.

That and the Titan Mafia.


EDIT: I've read their suggestion forums and one thread heavily implies that you can play as titans. Is that true?

You can, in fact, play as a titan, but only on certain maps.

Congrats! That's no easy feat. You have to make considerable progress to get good enough to win by yourself.

You are very much right about that, Nighthawk.
Took ages to find those last 2 titans, though.
Jean fits my playstyle particularly well, considering the rate at which I get caught (at least once per game) and I usually get a free kill, too.

Always up for a little multiplayer, but I still suck.

Congratulations on winning city alone, looks like it's time to increase difficulty and have fun with crawlers too
Or for even more fun, max difficulty for insane jumpers and crawlers all over the map

My best is always around 5 , as it's +/- where i made a stupid mistake and got myself eaten all the time.

As i'm not good enough to rope then rotate in the air around the head of a titan that faced me in order to get his neck, i found a workaround for those "titans facing me" case, i usually aim to ground to the right/left of the titan, a bit under their hand and past it , fly there, moving under their hand.
If i'm not too fast the titan will then launch an attack and miss (unless it's abnormal difficulty in which case i have lots of chance of being splashed).

And during the titan attack animation i have usually the time to shoot the rope at their neck and go for it .

My tactic of cutting eyes works really well especially when playing as Jean. Works even better against the smaller titans.
Oh, and sometimes I stealth kill them. That is to say, I find a titan facing the opposite direction, and kill it before it notices me.
