Eh, I still play the game from time to time, but it's been a while. I blame the crawlers and their OP bullshit for scaring me away.
Funny enough, I find crawlers pretty easy to deal with.

It's jumper than always get me with long-distance high-speed jumps that are so fast they looks like they're teleporting.

If you think crawlers can't jump far or fast you clearly haven't seen enough of them.

Also, crawlers easy? Solo? Pics or it didn't happen.

The "Outside the Wall" map is much more fun too, and much more difficult too when playing alone , titans move to actually capture every sectors, they just don't wait here and there.
And they respawn in captured points, making it very hard.

Though i seem to have much more difficulty to get on a horse, it looks like you really need to jump very close to it now.
(edit : i found out that you need to use the dodge key to get easily on horse now)

EDIT : WOW, guess who can spawn on the titan side in "Outside the wall" now .
Annie can spawn now in the Titan side !
It's a carnage when playing solo :D

edit 2 : that's really silly, i thought it was a special version of Annie, but not at all, that's the same Annie that can destroy a dozen of player on a single attack.
I wonder why the dev did that, already the map balance was destroyed once a player joined the titan side and just jump-teleported on each player one by one without needing a second to recover (unlike AI titans) , and now they have Annie ?

edit 3 : very strange, i joined one of the very rare server running "Outside the Wall", and there was no Annie spawning ?

Gave a try to it after a long time not playing and noticed there was an update.
what i found new :
- character customisation,  faces, glasses, costume, hair etc...
- redone and more varied titans appearances (lots of new titan textures, but i find them much less creepy now, not a good point )
- the game take some snapshots of your titan kills and you can check them in a snapshot viewer

I didn't played more than a minute in the sp city, so i can't say much about the other maps or whatever new is going on in MP.

They also added some really nice animations, like a landing animation when you hit the ground after a fall, and some nifty leaning animations when grappling around. Small changes, really, but the game looks a lot more polished now.

Character customization doesn't allow for as much stat variance as I would like, but with the ability to make my own character I suppose I can't really complain. :)

I'm thinking about playing this. When you die, is it as bloody and brutal as it is in the anime? Also, who's Annie? I've only seen the first season.

The game is quite a bit more toony compared to the show, but the difficulty is brutal enough.

And if you've watched the first season you should know who Annie is. Blond hair, looks perpetually annoyed, transforms into a titan and tries to kill everyone. Not exactly forgettable.

Sorry, I meant first collection, my mistake. But I know now, though. Why is she constantly attacking everyone in this game? Didn't she have a reason in the actual series?

I've only seen the anime (one season released thus far), and it wasn't really made clear why she was trying to kill everyone. It was hinted at that she did have some kind of reason for her actions, but it wasn't ever revealed.

Also, sorry for any spoilers I might have thrown at your head.

Oh, thanks, by the way. It's fine, also, I've ended up spending the last hour or so searching up info for it, anyway. It is actually made clear (in a manner of speaking) why Annie was killing, but I don't want to spoiler it for you if you don't know.

The reasons should be the same, yeah. Don't see them changing much.

I have risen from beyond the grave! This obviously must be announced in a grandiose fashion!
On another note, thank you for informing me of of that update. I may just go back to this game.
