In the advanced parameters screen for world gen, pressing p for set preset field values brings up this screen:

What is that? Is this some kind of dev tool Toady forgot to turn off for the release?

I thought preset field values meant it would reset the value to it's default.

No, this allows you to preset field values. If you wanted to make a custom map, this is where you'd go. :p

This isn't new to 40.x, it was implemented way back in 2008. It's a map painter, you can make custom maps with it.

I'm playing DF since 2010-ish and I didn't know about that feature O_O

I've played DF since 2006 and I guess I never pressed p, cause I never felt the need to reset to default values, which is what I thought it did  :D
