Amount of migrants in announcement
« on: July 16, 2014, 05:07:20 pm »

I'm not sure if it is possible, but with names of dwarves often in announcements (indicating they are not fixed messages) it seems plausible that the announcement shown when migrants arrive could say the number of migrants as well instead of some, ie. "16 migrants have arrived." This way we would know exactly how many new dwarves to accommodate, instead of just counting them as they appear on the map.

This should be possible. I've always used therapist to assign labors and nicknames to dwarves before they enter the map. So the game knows who is coming the moment you get that announcement,  it isn't pulling dwarves out of the air after or anything.

It would also be helpful to distinguish between adults and children, and perhaps add the number of pets and/or stray animals.

And the number of married couples.  That is the confusing bit.
