Conversation announcements in Adventure Mode
« on: July 16, 2014, 04:53:24 pm »

Doing anything in a densely populated area is very difficult now due to the many ongoing conversations. This sometimes necessitates hitting enter several times after each movement to scroll through the conversations. This becomes even more troublesome when in combat, as the combat announcements get mixed in with eighty people screaming in terror or remarking prosaically on the inevitability of each death. An option to ignore conversation announcements (at least for speech not directed at the player character), or even to filter them out of the (a)nnouncement screen would be a great help in managing this new feature.

If you don't like ignoring them altogether, then perhaps a toggle for less detailed conversation announcements. For example, instead of announcing the entire speech of Catten and Bomrek's conversation about the mountain titan's lust for murder and how terrifying it is, we could just see "Catten the Farmer to Bomrek the Milker: [Talking]". Maybe even include an option to listen in on a particular conversation if we want.

In either case, I think many adventure mode players would appreciate the option.
