Caravan arrives but lacks an outpost liason
« on: July 15, 2014, 09:37:44 pm »

So my current set of drunk midgets got their first trade caravan but I got a message stating that there was no outpost liason to be found. Why would this happen?

He got eaten by the wildlife underway. Or killed by Goblins before he arrived at your place, take your pick.
That even can happen to the caravan so far i've heard.

The most common reason for an _announced_ lack of liaison is that you're reviving a dead civilisation. Check your "c"ivilisation screen, if your own civ has "no important leaders", your fort is likely the only settlement and chances are that one of your dwarfs will become the new king on the next first of granite.

I have INVADERS set to OFF, something I've made a habit of doing since 40d. I like playing Dwarf Fortress like a deranged version of The Sims, but having goblins, megabeasts and other nonsense attack my dwarves ruins it for me nine times out of ten.

Well seeing as a dwarf proclaimed themselves to be the king of Craftscribe and I didn't notice until they put a ban on the export of weapon racks this was indeed the case. Thank you for your clarifications upon this matter.

That actually is not related to invaders invading your site but that beside the point.
