Cannot seem to open console?

Hello, i was planning on going to bed after my recent bit of fun, When i stumbled over this particular article, http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/07/08/dwarf-fortress-0-40-01-released-in-game-graphics-now-possible-in-older-version/

And i now desperately want to try out the stonesense overlay.

So i downloaded the 40_03 starter pack, and it says all i apparently have to do is type 'stonesense overlay' in the game console. But CTRL-SHIFT-P does nothing. Not in the menu screen, not ingame. What am i doing wrong? No amount of frustrating google searching brought me any closer to the answer, so if you could help out id be greatful.

dwarf-fortress-0-40-01-release & in-game-graphics-now-possible-in-older-version
You are using the wrong version. Maybe try the most up to date version of Peredexis' LNP for v0.34.11

There is not AFAIK. The console refers to the DFHack window which if installed will run whenever you run DF.

I think he means DFhack, which isn't out for 40.xx yet.

Welcome to DF.  :)

As others have pointed out you should probably get Peridexiserrant's starter pack. Look for the most up to date version of it for Dwarf Fortress 34.11.

The brand new version of Dwarf Fortress will not work with most of the major mods such as stone sense and DFhack for at least a few weeks if not months.
