So it was like a binary search, except the question is "Has the input been brutally murdered?", and it only ever returns True.

"Right, does not understand space-english. Scratch that one off the list."
Set Red Hand to very low power, place hand on object, give it a small jolt.
The thing twitches and starts uncoiling. It appears to be an 8 foot long centipede made of metal.

Ok. OK. NO  THIS IS FINE.

Dream of apple-blossoms in the orchards of my homeworld.
You dream of apple blossoms...raining down on a naked Simus

Have nice dreams in stasis.
No.
Any dreams? Any at all?
You dream of a static image of a ham sandwich.

fly ever onward
The long range sensors pick up something in the distance. It looks like a planet. An actual planet, not some kind of bullshit, but an actual planet. Maybe it's one of the ones that used to be part of this solar system?

"Alright. Now this is interesting."
Casually set red hand to max power. Wait to see what it does.
Also; does it have a mouth or what?

"Pancaek we have an object approaching appears to be a planet. Help me identify it"
Begin identification of mysterious planet by looking at the planet and comparing to the other planets, once id determined use the information about its orbit so we can avoid approaching too close to possibly be captured by it's gravity ensure we have a decent 50% lead on it's normal escape velocity when we approach which will be adjusted as necessary to allow escape and not run into things. Once possible danger has passed keep on space truck'n

I'm joining this. No clue what's going on, but this sounds interesting.

So. I'll go with option number 1.

((Too late. This is currently extension of Mission 21. Though I guess you can still do that.))

As it uncoils you can clearly see it has a mouth. Or is that an Anus? It has an opening at either end, and they both look fairly similar. Alright.

It pulls itself up and seems to be looking around, wiggling two pairs of long thin antennae around.  After a moment it lays back down and starts crawling in your direction. Not quickly or angrily, just a leisurely crawl.

According to the data you have, it appears to be the uninhabited 3rd planet in the system, a relatively small, rocky planet that used to have a thick atmosphere. Now, however, it is nothing but a brownish gray marble of exposed rock. Something happened to the atmosphere; stripped away, torn off, eaten, who can say. There are what appear to be radio signals coming from it; they're steady but complete gibberish when you try to listen in. Encoded? Some natural phenomena? Hm.

You make various whistling noises and yell at ship members that exist only in your childlike imagination. You tell them to hoist the sail, trim the mizzenmast and wipe the poop deck.

"See? Totally friendly. I bet it just wants a snack."

Calmly leave the room and close the door. Look for some good junkfood to feed to the thing. If room cannot be exited due to dream state, back off a bit and have Faith that I'll find some dream-snacks in my dream-pockets.

Exactly that. I don't remember if we saw any other texts, but if we did, I probably should pop out of stasis and translate everything recorded. This time without distruptions.

"NOPE! Not visiting cthulhu's radio station!"
Turn of radio receiver and give the planet a wide berth and continue onward on our journey of NOPE
