"Keep them busy! I'll flank them!"
Through the corridor. Keep running. I'm going to flank them.
EDIT: If I can shoot them without a penalty to my running, then fire a single shotgun blast at sword while running.
Since the others shot, I assume our weapons are loaded, right? Want us to keep track of ammo?

Make with the covering fire on the way to the staircase. 3 round burst. Maybe try to hit somebody. Try not to get hit. Get up the staircase if I get to it.

You sprint toward the stairwell, shooting as you go. You aim in the vague direction of Swordsmith, who is peaking out from behind the pillar and firing back. The gun kicks painfully in your hand as you fire, raising puffs of concrete dust down range. The third shot sounds different though; there's no sound of concrete chips landing, just a dull "THUNK" and a distant grunt. As you pass into the stairwell, you catch a glimpse of Swordsmith collapsing out from behind the pillar.
To the staircase fastly and dodge-like. Roll to dodge, literally! Then up the stairs.

You fire as best you can at the distant figures as they move from the pillar to the stairwell and the hall, peaking out as bullets hiss past you and punch small chalky craters in the concrete of the pillar. You lean out to fire again and suddenly feel like you've been punched in the sternum. There's surprisingly little pain, and you mange to jerk back into cover before your legs start to go. You struggle for a moment to keep yourself propped up on the pillar before losing your balance and sliding to the side. You land hard on the ground, dazed and barely conscious, blood now spurting through the hole in your shirt and spreading across your chest and the ground.
SWORDSMITH IS FATALLY WOUNDED! HE'LL DIE IN MERE MOMENTS!
SPILL MORE BLOOD!
(Beirus got very lucky with that shot. And Swordsmith got very unlucky. )
