Distract the monster while still trying to run towards it.
You make loud shrieking noises and run toward the creature.
Well, lumber toward the creature.

Throw javelins at the monster if I can, otherwise move closer.
You'll do both! Had to move you in close since you can't throw very far.
You run up and huck a javelin into the creature's side. It pierces the skin and sticks in the muscle, but the creature doesn't even seem to notice.
((Gonna go with Monster Hunter tactics. Attack and roll away.))
Cut its good eye with my glaive, then roll 1 square SW to dodge any retaliation and reposition if Hapah isn't a good distraction. If the monster is distracted, maintain position. Or if I have to move first, run 5 squares SW and javelin the monster, aiming for the head again.

Diagonal movement costs 1.5 as opposed to 1, so it goes 1, 3, 4, 6 etc I moved him as far as he could go, which is just one less then you wanted anyways.
(By the way, I should point out that, when you roll for damage, I count 6's as "Crits" and they cause an additional dice roll. The whole "Exploding dice" thing. You don't see it, since I don't show the numbers, but hap did 8 damage this turn cause of that)
Hap charges straight up behind the beast, using the momentum of his run to hurl a javelin straight into the creature's ribs. The Javelin buries itself several feet deep into the creature's side, half the shaft embedded in between its ribs. The creature shrieks in rage and pain as turquoise blood runs from the wound.
Beirus, in the mean time, manages to rock himself up onto his knees, swaying with vertigo and disorientation. He can't stand, legs refusing to hold him, but he might be able to throw himself out of the way of an attack, if he does it at just the right time...
The creature swings one paw at Beirus, and Beirus, at the last moment, gathers his feet beneath himself and throws himself forward. The beast still hits him, but it hits him with it's wrist and forearm, rather then the foot long scything claws of its paw. Beirus bounces, skids across the algae coated ground and rolls into the side of the building he was fighting next to, bruised and battered but not seriously injured.
The creature coils up and leaps, flapping it's feathered arms at the same time and taking off with a burst of air strong enough to nearly knock Hap and Nav off their feet. It doesn't fly, it probably can't, but the leap caries it straight across the street and over to the lawn of another ruined building. It leaves a trail of faintly luminous greenish-blue blood behind it.
