I never got a cool description of my items
Sprint 4 west, towards the house with the circley bit.
Lets see, your spear is gonna be another metallic ivory thing, more a spike at the end of a pole then a traditional spear head, as you would think of it.
Duct tape is gonna be more a sort of carefully rolled spool of thin leathery material with a sticky, foul smelling black stuff on one side. The entrenching tool is similar to your spear, a shovel head of ivory, a shaft of that dark material that replaces wood around here. Grappling hook is a single sided hook, almost like a fish hook, made of ivory with a plant fiber rope attached to it.
You are now blue on the map.
You sprint off toward the west, towards a home with a strange little circular room, like an attached gazebo. The Algae is less dense in this direction, and the sound of your feet slapping against the soft ground echos faintly through the little deserted hamlet. You notice something in the gazebo room: the circular structure has been partially torn open and you can see straight into the house beyond. Something is gleaming in the failing sunlight, though you can't make out what it is.
((Algae monster?))
Slowly and carefully sneak up 2 spaces, checking for tracks in the algae

Beirus is green
Tavik is orange.
You both move forward, Tavik lagging behind. The algae definitely gets thicker as you move forward, thick enough that it obscures any kind of tracks in the road. However, it certainly seems like something moved along this road; the buildings to either side of it are more damaged and whats more, they're overgrown with algae as well.
Something shifts in the distance towards the north, a sort of groan like one of the old houses settling.
