Whut.

I call BS.
Er. On what?
My arms going limp from lifting weights? That's really damned excessive, and while I'm not gonna claim to be a power-lifter, when I did, even when I did stuff well above my tolerance level, that never happened to me.

Ugh. Apparently it can happen. Still pretty frikkin' dumb.
Uhhh.. You're not helpless, you can still move and do things, and you still succeeded the roll.. You're just really sore and you're going to be shaky the rest of the day. That's what happens when you've been working out really hard. Like, this is something I myself have experienced before. Not frequently but occasionally I have needed help putting my shirt on after a long upper-body session.

I honestly don't know what you're mad about, it's not like you're crippled or anything..

You should probably tell Tiruin thanks or something. I can't make the turn until you both tell me what you're going to do next, if anything, since pulling your shirt worked out and you didn't rip your spine out on a hook.

Sami wandered over to the two new greens after putting the new rifle back into the kit, sternly approaching them before she reached the pair and called out to them.

"Alright, what's going on over here exactly?" She asked, rather forcefully and intently.

((That is a realistic probability silly Rolep! :P))

"Muscular accident." Joan replied, giving a nod, "It happens."

Joan excuses herself to move and practice at the firing range, analyzing the weaponry before practicing long distance shooting.

((what kind of hooks are these people using, I mean goddamn))

"Eh...thanks anyway, I guess," she says, trying to stretch out the soreness. It wasn't working very well.

Well, she could exactly spar, now, but...maybe she should test out some of the bigger pieces of equipment they had with them. Yeah. Let's try out the big guns, eh?

Unless either of you say otherwise I'm gonna have both of your characters hit the armory and try to beg for these weapons you want, since you don't own any big guns or long-range weapons.

In a sec I'm gonna post Cheese's turn and catch him up.

Equipment: Body Armor Light/FlaK Medium Mk.ii (BAL/FKM.ii), Body Armor Light/EXplosive Mk.ii (BAL/X.ii), Body Armor Light/Tiberium Protective Mk.ii (BAL/TP.ii)
AF-10 Assault Rifle, Disc Backpack, Medical/Tiberium-Backpack (M/T-B)
1x Laser Communication Backpack
Well you clearly haven't been issued any, so if you want something different you have to requisition them.

Maybe she's referring to the disc backpack, then.

What sort of storm troopers regiment has so little weaponry. I mean jeez. It's like it's based on a video game or something.  ::) :P

Well, it IS going to take a while to develop everything before we actually resemble a practical unit :P

((I was having a hard time finishing this one so excuse my brevity while I try to keep this rolling.))

Sami wandered over to the two new greens after putting the new rifle back into the kit, sternly approaching them before she reached the pair and called out to them.

"Alright, what's going on over here exactly?" She asked, rather forcefully and intently.

[22:18]   GUNINANRUNIN   The two soldiers spin around.
[22:18]   GUNINANRUNIN   They both look pretty nervous.
[22:18]   GUNINANRUNIN   One of them is clutching a tablet.
[22:18]   Taricus   Computer tablet, or medical tablet?
[22:18]   GUNINANRUNIN   Like a computer tablet. It's displaying the news.
[22:19]   GUNINANRUNIN   "Uhh- Well we were just, y'know. Talking. It's no big deal."
[22:19]   GUNINANRUNIN   The other guy nods quickly.
[22:21]   GUNINANRUNIN   They seem reluctant to tell you. At this point you could press the subject further or just drop it. Or kick them or something. Whatever you like.
[22:23]   Taricus   "And out of uniform when you're on full readiness. care to explain that, or would you just prefer to tell me is actually going on here?"
[22:25]   GUNINANRUNIN   They flinch and you can tell they realize they made a mistake. One of them tries plaintively to excuse.
[22:25]   GUNINANRUNIN   "We've been here for hours, and we just thought it was no big deal if we took our armor off."
[22:28]   GUNINANRUNIN   "And after what happened on Earth, it's not like we're gonna get deployed or anything-"
[22:31]   GUNINANRUNIN   You can see a scene being played back on the tablet. It's probably the event he's referring to.
[22:32]   Taricus   "A few hours and you get stupid and complacent enough to expect that we won't see combat when we're on standby for deployment. Now, if you would kindly hand over the tablet."
[22:33]   GUNINANRUNIN   He hands it to you. You check it out.
[22:34]   GUNINANRUNIN   You see an image of a city. You don't recognize it.
[22:35]   GUNINANRUNIN   At first it's not apparent what is going on in the scene. But you notice a black dot moving across the sky trailing a white streak.
[22:35]   GUNINANRUNIN   Moments later a large part of the city is enveloped in an explosion. You can see buildings toppling.
[22:36]   GUNINANRUNIN   There's a banner across the bottom:
[22:37]   GUNINANRUNIN   POPULATION CENTERS TARGET OF TERROR ATTACKS
[22:37]   GUNINANRUNIN   NOD RESPONSIBLE?
[22:38]   GUNINANRUNIN   It cuts to a news room where anchors are discussing rumors about GDI high command halting it's planned offensive in North Africa in order to strengthen defenses in North America and Europe.
[22:38]   GUNINANRUNIN   This seems serious.
[22:39]   Taricus   Sami takes a few moments to take all the information in, before replying.
[22:40]   Taricus   "Well, if anything, this is just going to mean we're going to be deployed quite soon."
[22:40]   Taricus   hands the datapad back to the soldier that handed it to her.
[22:40]   GUNINANRUNIN   "Y-yes, ma'am." "Thank you ma'am."
[22:40]   GUNINANRUNIN   "We'll get back into combat load right away."
[22:41]   Taricus   "Good, If I see you out of it again like that, Nod's going to be the least of your worries."
[22:41]   GUNINANRUNIN   "Roger that-!"
[22:42]   GUNINANRUNIN   They move away to go don their combat armor.
(We resolved this turn in IRC, because I thought it'd be fun.)

You excuse yourself go get your rifle, then head to the range and practice firing at distant targets. [roll] You do pretty well, knocking down target after target. Your aim doesn't improve too much, but you've gained some valuable experience today. +.4 Machine-Rifles

"Eh...thanks anyway, I guess," she says, trying to stretch out the soreness. It wasn't working very well.

You go grab a disc pack and head to the range. [roll-1] It doesn't go so well. You would've done well to bring one of the vets with you to show you the ropes. You have a hard time even getting the dispenser to work, and the pain brought on by your exercise earlier certainly doesn't do much to help your aim. Eventually you give up and decide to head back to standby.

I follow my friend to his workspace, for the tour.
Your friend escorts you to his lab. He shows you around. We've been working on some very interesting ideas lately, here on the Philadelphia. It's the perfect place to test the reactions of matter in various states. You see there's this special fluid we've discovered- You stop in front of a transparent glass chamber where a pair of researchers wearing sealed suits are moving a largish capsule, about the size of your torso, into some kind of container. The properties are incredible.. Ehm, top secret of course. Nothing I could explain to you in the amount of time I have now anyways, but what I am authorized to do is to show you some of the applications. I believe the others were preparing a demonstration today.

He leads you to another part of the lab where researchers are readying a machine-rifle attached to a mechanical rig. It is aimed down a range at a dummy of a humanoid torso and head, which has been dressed in a very solid-looking vest that appears a dark grey, reflecting with a very dull sheen. They retire behind the protection of a thick metal shield, then trigger the weapon. You hear five rounds fired and they strike the vest. To your astonishment, there isn't a scratch on it, and you have to reassure yourself that you really did see those shots hit. Your friend can't help noticing your reaction and grins. Isn't it unbelievable?! Even I can't believe how fantastically it works! One of the researchers behind the shield collapses, blood pouring from a wound on his head. The other researchers cry out and crowd around him. Oh my, perhaps a bit too well.. It was nice seeing you but I hope you can see yourself out. Now, if you'll excuse me-! He rushes over to a nearby terminal, probably to summon a doctor. You show yourself out. You should probably head back to the standby area now.

Cheesebutt
You have your orders to report to the 23rd mustering area in hand. You arrive pretty well on time, with four replacement medics in tow that were also being transferred into the unit. This is a bit strange. If they're folding in more support units, shouldn't that mean there should be a brace of infantry as well? You can't help wondering. Maybe they'll meet up with the unit Earthside.

Quote from: Station-Wide Announcement

The 23rd has already been bloodied in it's first battle with Brotherhood of Nod forces at their first assault in Estonia, having stopped a Nod attack in it's tracks and immediately taken the fight to them. After a few hours of pitched battle the 23rd ground them down, routing the Nod forces. The unit's medical support and the heavy weaponry available to them had proved decisive in holding back Nod from the base they were stationed in.
