"Then let's get to it."

Order them to move silently. Spread them out in groups of four, all within range of any two groups at a time. If they hear or see any movement, they are to report it immediately. We can't be sure if it's one of ours or one of Nods, and this damn fog isn't helping.

Once they report it, they are to move in as close as they can, weapons ready. If shots are fired at them, they should find cover and show their allegiance to GDI. If they cease fire and show they're GDI too, allow them to join us. If they continue firing, signal the nearest two teams and retaliate if the terrain allows it.

Will update soon.

Spread them out in groups of four-
There are fourteen of those men, so one group will only have two in it.

Quote
120/14/1 Light Infantry
((Original numbers/recovered troops/confirmed lost or killed.))

Sami aims her rifle skyward and fires three shots in succession separated by three seconds. There's a rush of sound as the various hidden wildlife within several miles noisily flee. She lowers the weapon back down and turns to follow the others.

14 men, split into 3 four man patrols and one two man patrol, are fanned out into the lead as the 5 officers together make their foray into the jungle.

It's not long before a large clutch of disc throwers are found huddled in a low clearing surrounded by brush. +20 Disc Throwers They confirm no casualties between all four of their pods, then the group moves on, following the smell of burnt foliage.

One of the light infantry signals and everyone hits the ground. The disc throwers with their unwieldy backpacks are particularly conspicuous; with every insignificant movement something on their person clicks or taps. There's a slight movement up ahead as someone glances back from where some of the light infantry are huddled, behind a particularly massive tree trunk with green bark that's caked with brown moss and ropey jungle vines. There's a minute tick as the wireless radio inside your helmet receives. It's a gruff voice, an experienced one, a survivor of the Estonia task force no doubt: This is Patrol 3, we're four strong and layin' low. I've got Nod rifles kickin' around the bush here. I count at least 17. They've got no idea what they're doing. They're coming straight for us, but if we stay quiet for a few minutes they'll walk right past us and never encounter the main body. Wait..

The air was thick with tension.

Shit! Someone else is out there! A few of our medics it looks like. They're right out in the open. Those Nod are bound to spot them, but..

Current Experiments: Test shield projection equipment in combat.

History: 1 Engagement, 18 Casualties
The 23rd has already been bloodied in it's first battle with Brotherhood of Nod forces at their first assault in Estonia, having stopped a Nod attack in it's tracks and immediately taken the fight to them. After a few hours of pitched battle the 23rd ground them down, routing the Nod forces. The unit's medical support and the heavy weaponry available to them had proved decisive in holding back Nod from the base they were stationed in.

Divide the disc throwers into 4 groups, and keep hiding until the Nod are as close as they can be, then suprise attack.

"I'll move up. Patrol 3, where is your location?"

Joan hoped they were able to triangulate their coordinates based on the landing zone and the distance from the Nod base.

"I'll close in and-"

Order the rest to keep hold of their weapons; only free them when a fight is purely inevitable. Make use of the terrain to move closer until a suitable vantage point of attack is reached.
"Sorry."
She cut off her idea as she surveyed the area, having spoken from thought out loud. This was a habit she thought she had mastered.

"Sami, your rifle. Shoot it. We're more appropriate in dealing with this situation than anyone else at the moment!"

Ready a grenade if any; if none--proceed with rifle, stick to terrain.

Blue Blip = 4 Light Infantry (these are the patrols, as lukeinator divided them up)
Blue Half Blip = 2 Light Infantry
Large Purple Blip = 5 lieutenants, 20 disc throwers (the main body, you and the rest of the infantry not in the patrols are clumped up here)
Brown Blip = Medics
Large Red Blip = 17 Nod Riflemen (they're moving directly south, and are minutes away from running into patrol 3, there, who could evade them without moving since they're so few, but the medics don't know they're coming and will probably be spotted)
Black Arrow = The direction you came from
Red Arrow = Estimated direction of the Nod base
