To be fair, you could do it in Rogue/Nethack by drinking boiling potions (basically magma) or acid potions.

You don't melt off parts of your body because the magma is flowing through your veins in those, either, so DF is still on top anyway.

You don't melt off parts of your body because the magma is flowing through your veins in those, either, so DF is still on top anyway.

The real question is, if you are cut then does your blood proceed to melt you.

I just tried this, lugging around gold wheelbarrows until I got thirsty, and then drinking lava out of a minecart.
It did get rid of my thirst.
Although I'm wondering how you're supposed to fill the minecart with lava in the first place, as I had to create another person to jump in the lava and throw the minecart out of it before melting.
If I tried to "I"nteract with the minecart near lava, all I could do is heat it. I could fill it fine with water though.
