Hey don't count me out yet, I still got50/50 chance of surviving if I won the initiative and prevent the landing.

You are completely right. I underestimated the strength of your remaining calvary. You can still win if you engage in a pitched battle with the bronze horde (as long as they don't got too large of a defensive buff that is) and avoid getting them picked off one by one like has been happening for the past 5 turns. I thought that with the destruction of the Londinum garrison (which I thought had like 5 of your calvary units, not just 2 calvary and 3 infantry) you weren't quite strong enough to beat the bronze horde. But you are, and and I am much more hopeful about your future.
Suggestion: Destroy the stone wall in Londinium this turn to stop the Danes from getting the defense bonus.
E: Forgot you paid them off this turn. You can take it back before they get the defensive bonus, so no need to destroy the wall at all.

That's it. We've finally crossed over and become the nation of Da Orky Boyz.

Spoiler: 883 AD (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Battle Log (click to show/hide)

The coin flips up. The admiral of the Wessex fleet gazes across the water at the Danish armada. Each galleon stuffed with horses soon to overrun the south lands.

The dice rolls. The Irish knights lean over their boats peering at the harbour of Windermere. The wind is at their sails, but so too is at the sails of the vicious Nos Da Danes bearing downj on them.

Heads. The southern invasion ends in blood and the gargled screams of drowning horses as the full force of the Wessex fleet comes to bear on the Danes before they can land another troop.

Six. The Irish Landing Party save Windermere from the Danish invaders, the Nos Da blocking the bay behind them. They made it.

And the slaughter in Birmingham? The Welsh kept the city as the might of Mercia smashed itself against the hilltop citadel. Is this the beginning of a Welsh resurgence? The decline of Mercia? Or just a small stumbling block in the path to glory?

If I had a penny for every time someone (usually Lemon) said I was doomed in the last game we played...

The Dane's enemies will be pleased to note that they're now officially in debt. So they won't be able to build new units until they sort out their finances.

Hello, Danish hordes. You're looking very... horde-y, today.

They can't enter an enemy city but they can defend their own cities. Here's a trick worth knowing: you can disembark and move your ships in the same turn-- the only caveat is that the landing party has to have a movement equal to or greater than the ships.

No: to move across water a unit needs to be in the same army as the ship and you can't move, combine armies, then move in the same turn.
