Spoiler: 879 AD (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Battle Log (click to show/hide)

The 1st Lampeter Knights were sent to take back the fortress of Aberaeron after rumours of fleeing citizens and an absent guard. They were met by a green squadron of halbediers and though the fight was bloody and could have gone either way, the knights prevailed and Aberaeron was theirs once more. Along the coast of Wales the black fleets rowed, threatening Wrexham and Almwch, abandoning their attack on Ireland... for now.

In Wessex lands knights moved every which-way. The king had bribed the Danes to leave off putting their cities to the sword, but were surprised when the Bronze Horde moved back towards the Danish-held Cambridge, but were waylaid by Sir Kornfled, Kinsher and Mogana who were overrun by the vast numbers of the horde.

In the midlands the forces of Mercia concentrated in Manchester as Welsh brigands marched into their lands. And in Scotland, the wily Pictish hordes rode further north, the Skyeband slowly marching at their heels.

Zanz, I guess Cambridge is my Capital, for now.

Varee, I don't believe you have enough money to bribe the Danes this turn, so you'll have to take them out conventionally. Note that I upheld the deal and Bore is currently unconquered.

I'm a bit disappointed with the loss of Aberaeron-- Wales got lucky there. No matter. Not long until reinforcements arrive...

Spoiler: Ireland turn 66 (click to show/hide)
Irada is my capital of course.

Those eastern fleets are going to be very annoying, I was hoping that they would drop off their soldiers down near Arklow, but they decided not to throw themselves into a meatgrinder that obvious. It looks like I am going to have to build yet another fleet to make sure they are dealt with properly and don't hang around bothering me there forever.

NotQuiteThere, Varee: I would be willing to pay Varee's bribe for him this turn (presuming of course he wants to pay it). Is this acceptable?

Yeah, you *should* be able to beat the Danes off eventually if you don't get your horsemen killed off in small groups, and assuming the Danes don't send another massive force of horsemen at you. But it is going to take a long time and be extremely costly either way.

You're welcome to pick one of the other players (not myself or rolepg) to take this turn. I'm sure lemon10 or Kashyyk would do it.
