The hell?  I tested that, and 619 went past the Dane army that was there, as 588 destroyed it.  And that was in the exact order I had it in the turn I posted.  What went wrong?

If you look at your turn post, you ordered 588 before 619, and as it processes equal-speed armies in reverse order, 619 moved first.

sry I thought I already post my turn....... also how does walking into unit work? I feel like the unit the is walking the furtherest is going to walk into the closest unit and battle so they wont reach the further units.....
Here is your answer:
Neither was I. I thought all armies of the same speed had their movement order chosen randomly.
Nope. Its a multi level priority queue.
1) All the fastest units have the highest priority.
       A) After that, units are chosen by which player is moving first this turn. This means that the player that moves first will move *all* their armies of a speed before any other will get to move any units of this speed.
               i) After that, units are chosen by the order their move is submitted in a turn, in what appears to be a stack, with the first units submitted going on the bottom.
I do totally understand your confusion and never realizing this: They don't move in the order that you submit their moves, they move in the reverse order that you submit their moves. So the one you order to move last will in fact move first, and the one you order to move first will move last.
E: Also, a bump for Varee.
Just in case your question wasn't actually about move order (and was instead about when battles are resolved), all battles are resolved the instant the units move into each other, not at the end of the movement phase.

Spoiler: Ireland turn 55 (click to show/hide)
Them not razing your cities this turn is a huge help Varee, even if (and especially if) you want to try to kill as many of them as you can.
If you intend to keep the peace with them, then you should simply recombine and move all your calvary into place into a single tile, where you can prepare to assault Bore next turn (and you should win if you combine all your calvary into a single army), and use your other troops to take back Lampang.

If you don't then you can simply take Lampang with your calvary this turn (and allow them to heal a bit there, and even that amount will be pretty helpful), then move into Bore next turn. Either way you prevent them from taking either of your cities, and you can use your calvary army promptly afterwards to finish wiping out the rest of their army before their reinforcements land.

Understood: there won't be any Danish taking of Wessex cities this turn and you will give the Danes 50 gold.

I hope you remember the deal we made when you move your troops, Mercia.

Sorry, I'm paranoid about the location of one of your forces, namely how your Manchester Garrison is on some fields rather than on the road.

Strategizing.  Can't decide whether you are going to have the Danes hit Haverfordwest, or if it is a ruse to tie up troops there in order make a North-Eastern rush to capture Wrexham.

What?

Seriously?

I'm being completely honest here when I say it's going to Manchester. I moved it to fields on a whim because either way it got to Manchester, and it felt more aesthetically pleasing and like I was being more efficient, by using all the movement points available.

Actually, though, I don't remember a deal. Not being snarky, just honestly can't remember. Was it the one from back when I was at war with Wessex?

Also, can you let my army through the pass to attack Ireland's city? I need to do something with it and Wessex is too far away.

You can decide now, and if you have 50 gold at the beginning of this turn, the deal will be repeated.

No, the one where I paid you horses for your territory on your west coast that was either immediately diagonal or immediately adjacent to the sea.

If you are wanting to go through my territory, either wait one turn for me to clear out my forces and pay me 5 iron and 20 wood, and to not conquer Pictland's Whitehaven with forces that move along that path.  Any forces that want to take Whitehaven have to take the long way around.

By the way, Wessex, as a payment for taking out the forces in your western portion, I'm keeping that city that had been captured by the danes, and the unclaimed territory around it.  Would like 21, 34 and 18,36 as well, but considering your situation, I can wait on those.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Just curious, which city does everyone consider to be their 'Capital'?
