Actually, does anyone else want NERV? If not I'll continue playing but I'm happy to give it away.

I would we willing to give up my dear hero in exchange for Nerv.

Tip of the day: Games of Hot Potato involving Commander Ikari never end well for anyone involved.

HERALD finances belatedly updated.

Evil Marahadja, I ignored Execute/Dumbo.exe's turn. You may take a delayed hiring phase alongside your standard turn.

Humanity is currently experiencing an unusual wave of scientific curiosity. Research (not design work) rolls are increased this turn.

Halberd

Research:

LG Spec. Scientist, along with 16 General Scientists and 8 Undergrads research cybernetic implants in the lab. Funding: -25 CR

11 Undergrads analyze Kaiju behavior and weaknesses using acquired combat data from both the first attack and the recent one. Renting: -25 CR

Engineering:

Spec. Enginner, along with 16 General Engineers and 8 Undergrads work on Project VERT in the workshop. They are to improve the VERTs speed until it is at least as quick as a walking human its size (Possible ways of increasing speed even further: mounting rocket thrusters on the VERT for quick boosts of speed and/or deployable wheels) and make it able to carry at least a 40mm chaingun without issues. Funding: -50 CR

Military:

Both SF Platoons undergo survival training.

If possible, the pilots use the VERT prototype to get used to its controls.

Spoiler: Hawk132's Halberd (click to show/hide)

Personnel count is actually 169, not 119. Fixed that.

ups

I'd rather save up for a lab than rent one out, so unless you make a good case otherwise your "budget" is the lab, five scientists, and... oh, probably 10 of the Undergrads. Really I should have just hired more to take advantage of that XCOM leadership bonus, but oh well. Engy stuff should be reasonably easy.

Current priorities are getting a sample retrieval drone that actually does its job. I'll probably set the engineers to producing camdrones this cycle, then have them design a fairly large doughnut-shaped drone next time, so anything that might help with that- cutting/drilling/slurping instruments, puncture thermometers/electrographs/chemical sensors, better engines/thrusters, etc- would be good. If you felt really ambitious you could even try the whole drone at once, but I wouldn't recommend it. Probably better to build up a library of components first.

"Okay then! First things first..."
Research Proposal:
Myself, the three scientists and five undergrads will take the lab and work on making a compact plasma generation and storage unit, basically a magnetic bottle with some high power lasers firing into the center. It should accept gas from an external tank, and be able to discharge plasma through a port on one side safely. Estimated cost: 35 CR
The other five undergrads will watch footage of the first attack and try to spot which weapons were most effective, ignoring regeneration, cross referenced with reports of who fired what, when. Estimated cost 0-5 CR

Black Forge
Research:
Kaiju Skin Sample
1 General Scientist and 4 Undergrads start analyzing the Kaiju Skin Sample

Kaiju Muscle Sample
1 General Scientist and 4 Undergrads analyze the Muscle sample.

Kaiju Stomach Sample
1 General Scientist and 4 Undergrads analyze the Stomach sample.

Advanced Ballistics and Penetration Research
2 Ballistics Specialist Scientists, 1 General Scientist, and 5 Undergrads begin researching and improving current ballistics (including railgun ballistics) to improve overall penetration and power of the rounds.

Engineering:
Project Slipstream
3 General Engineers, and 10 Undergrads begin work on designing a two man motorcycle that is equipped with a ring mount on the back where a roughly machine gun sized weapon can be put in place. The machine is to prioritize speed, and off road handling above all other features.

Project Sladestorm
1 Superior Engineer, 2 General Engineers and 7 Undegrads begin work on designing the Sladestorm, a mansized railgun designed for use underwater with built in mobility systems to allow the sole user to easily maneuver it underwater. The railgun is to emphasize penetration, and destructive power.

Deployment:
Both units are put on standby though they are to deploy immediately if a Kaiju is to come within range of their positions.

Book Keeping:
Credits: 60

((My living quarters stuff should be 2x Small Living Quarters (153/200) Nirur along with the second Living Quarters further down removed :P))

I am willing to sell bone samples for groups interested. For 100 each!

(Turn will be posted as soon as I know if anyone is interested. And how will trading work? Is it instantaneous or will it take a few rounds?  )

NERV

Hiring phase

Buy one hangar. (-50 cred)
Buy two modern helicopters, they should be agile and fast and able to transport 0.5 platoons each. Some offensive capabilities would be nice aswell. (-??? cred)
Hire one superior engineer and one specialist engineer (Explosives) (-200 cred)
Hira five undergrads.[/b]

Explain to the soldiers that we might be facing the end of the world if we dont find ways to stop this creatures. If you, the best of the best arent willing to give your lives to stop this creatures, who will? Last time one of them attacked, humanity lost 5 million of civilian lives.

Reorganise the platoons, create a new platoon with volunteers only, one which will be used for extra dangerous mission. If I cant scrape out enough volunteers ignore this command.

Research and engineering

Start Project Mile high club (or MIC):  1 superior engineer, 2 engineers and 5 undergrads should use modern day skydiving/parachuting and if it comes to that jetpack science find out a way for soldiers to jump from a helicopter and onto a Kaiju, and to stay there for 30 seconds to a minute. Preferably find a way to make it easier to hang onto a moving Kaiju, and provide a reasonable fast retreat when the mission is over aswell. Assign them the volunteer platoon (if that failed, the special forces platoon), Combat data from the first attack and two helicopters for experimentation.

Start Project Spelunky: Lead by the explosives expert, 3 engineers and 5 undergrads should start to design a bomb which can be planed directly onto the Kaijys skin. The general idea is to have an drill/something similar penetrate the Kaiju skin, and then the machine will pour in as much explosives as it can into the hole, as deep as possible, before it explodes. The machine has to be fast and light enough for a single soldier to carry. Cooperate with Project  Mile high club to design a project Spelunky optimal for using that flying technique to plant the bomb. Use the skin research to optimise the bomb.

Start project Ubergun: 5 general scientist should start researching a potential machine gun with the same properties as Project Spelunky. The bullets should be able to penetrate the skin, and then go as deep as possible before exploding. Be creative, it dosent have to be ballistic ammunition. But it has to penetrate the skin and then explode. Use the skin research as guidance.

5 Undergrads watch for differences between the two kajiu we have encountered. Why were we able to kill the first one but not the second one? Did the first one have regenerative powers aswell? Etc.

Buy NERV's bone sample for 100 credits. (I assume that it's not going to arrive instantly, so I won't research it this turn.)
5 General engineers and 10 undergrads finish off the set of motorcycles in one of the basic workshops. (I'm assuming since the project's already been started, I don't need to pay for it again.)
25 general scientists head to our lab and use what we know of the kaiju's liver to try and develop some sort of poison that has an effect on them.
5 general engineers and 20 undergrads use the workshop+1 to design a dartgun, scaled up the size of an anti-tank rifle for use on kaiju.
5 armor specialists and 20 undergrads use the other basic workshop to put together another set of body armor.
10 undergrads search the web for any information pertaining to last month's attack, putting any useful data into a file.
All platoons look over the combat data from the first attack, and see if there's anything that they can work into their techniques to help minimize casualties.

Go ahead and research it this turn, if you want. I'll just assume that you have the pull to get an occasional military transport for two-day delivery, since nobody particularly wants you trying to send alien organs through FedEx.
