I keep running into a bug that deletes all of my items. Mercifully I keep my skills, but this just keeps happening.

I keep the clothing I was wearing though, and my alicepack stays but I'm stuck at 4 slots and 5 weight capacity.

Farewell fully kitted Zubekakov and 30 ammo boxes, all those vaccines, medkits, frag grenades, and refillable canteens as well.

Never seen a bug like that, when do your items get deleted? On server / singleplayer restart?

No idea if this would work but if it's a corrupt char save you might want to just kill yourself or reset yourself via the menu (if that's what the button does, never tried it)

Once you fix it I can toss another zube and random gear your way

What is the quickest way to get a weapon that isn't my bare hands? So far in singleplayer I can take out about 5-6 zombies with my bare hands by pacing back and forth, but my health soon succumbs.

Uh pretty much any city has at least 2-3 colts if you really need something

Or if ya want something faster just join the server and i can toss ya a weapon or two or three

Recording the fact that I found the rarest gun in the game for posterity before this stupid bug inevitably erases it.

It comes with a free 20x scope.

Edit: Found another one, guess it isn't as rare as I thought.

Ya, our group has like 5-6 i think right now

We've been kinda just...collecting huge amounts of everything and waiting for the server netcode to be fixed up so servers can hold more than 12 people at once, than we can wage all out war on random servers

Taking the server down for tonight, and I won't be on tomorrow to host. If he updates the dedicated so it doesn't hemmorage memory I'll put a dedicated server up and let y'all know.

Have you tried taking your swag off to see if you can re-equip it?  Click it in the little display window to do so.

Well, I reset my character and oddly enough, had 2,000 experience points afterwords. Enough to max the important skills. My inventory seems to be fine for now.

Starting with nothing over and over taught me a lot of things though.

If you need to run from a group of zombies, run into a house with a low window, lure them in, and then jump out the window. They'll have to go around through the door and that's more than enough time to get away.

Right-Click to pick up items in your inventory. There's no drag n' drop here.

Purification tablets purify moldy water/milk/orange juice (Science?) in the crafting menu. Combine a water bottle and an empty can and get a canteen. You can refill it at any body of water. All your thirst issues gone forever. The tablets only cure about 5% infection so this is probably a better use.

Put clothes in the crafting menu to turn them into cloth. Combine 2 cloth to get a rag. It only restores 5% of your health, but clothing is everywhere and only cosmetic.

Pull plant seeds from moldy veggies using the crafting menu.

Don't eat raw berries. Use the crafting menu to smash them with a stone (need two berries), they're much more beneficial that way.

Try to find an axe and hacksaw early on, you can get a small amount of safe experience by cutting down trees (1xp each). Craft a long bow using rope (cloth + handsaw) and sticks (board + handsaw). You can make arrows by combining 3 sticks with 1 nails. That's plenty of ammunition almost anywhere.

Load COMPLETELY empty clips by combining them with civilian/military ammo boxes (depending on type).

Combine the shell box with 2 nails or 2 bolts to get shells/slugs.

I ended up figuring out a (slightly) nasty way to get dedicated to work without crashing from a memory leak, so the server is up. If an update pops though, I won't be around to update the server... but the server is up for now.
