Dashing north east the group quickly picks up the trail of Captain Grey. Yet again several creatures are dead from sword wounds. Your count places it at seven goblins, four hobgoblins, and a pair of bugbears. Ten minutes pass.

[Reflex: 7+1] A blade presses against Vicnan's throat "Anoth- Oh..." Captain Grey, heavily bloodied and missing his trademark hat, stands before you. His clothing is filled with puncture wounds though the captain himself is smiling "Are the monks alive?" He asks with his knife still near the Halflings throat.

Spoiler: Vicnan (click to show/hide)

In a smooth motion the Captain stands to his full height after withdrawing his dagger from Vicnan's throat "Excellent. Then let's go back. I've found an interesting little artifact for the monks to study." the Captain holds up a small plate, the size of his eye, for the group to see. A small red dragon is painted upon it. Obviously the plate the Hobgoblin mentioned.

"Hobgoblins want it to kill off the other tribes."

The captain stares at you for a moment, obviously confused, before saying "Aye... Which is why I took it and will give it to the monks."

"... You aren't thinking long term. Eventually the goblins will hear about it and will start attacking the monks for it relentlessly most likely. We should take it so that won't happen. Or give it to one of the tribes to protect it. But if we take it we could potentially get the monk's teapot and give that to the goblins as a peace offering and they probably won't try to attack them anymore AND we would remove something obviously dangerous from the island."

At the mention of the teapot the captain drops his blade in surprise "What? Who told you about the teapot!?"
