Then again questions are for those who do not already possess knowledge. Go inside, save monks from Goblins, get paid. Right? Stepping off of the small rowboat you bid the nameless men goodbye and walk up towards the monastary.

"Odd... When I was last here there were upwards of twenty monks. Someone was always tending the garden. No one is tending the garden now however." Captain Grey muses as he walks ahead of the group and knocks on the door with the simple knockers.

"Jinoichi, is that you?" an unknown voice spoke through the door.

"Yes Brother, it is I."

Opening the door a man bearing a strange resemblance to Captain Grey stood before you dressed in simple monks robes. "Come in come in. We cannot leave the doors unlocked for long."

After hustling you inside you get a decent look at the monastery. It seems well made, though simple. About par for the course when it comes to a monastery really.

"These are the ones I brought to help you Brother."

"Excellent, Jinoichi, most excellent. Hello crewmen. I am the head monk of this monastery. My name and title are Brother Inasra."

Vicnan bends slightly at the waist. "I am called Vicnan Graveltoes, apprentice to Prinn the Grey. If I may, to what deity is this monastery dedicated?"

The monk smiles before he replies "None actually. Surprising I know. We pursue more of a way of thinking than any particular god. All are welcome under our roof. We seek enlightenment through pacifism." Captain grey made a small noise "And it has worked spectacularly until just recently. Oh, and your master said to send you to him when I was finished, as he put it, 'telling the lout how to handle a goblin'. He was... most different is the nicest way to put it I'm afraid." the monk chuckled at that "However, if you wish to speak to him now he is in the library right over there. It is a rather meager selection for a wizard, but it keeps us occupied. There are only so many hours you can dedicate to contemplation."

Vicnan looks a little embarrassed when the monk quotes his master in front of his companions. Sighing, he tries to make light of the situation. "Well, you'd better tell 'the lout how to handle a goblin'."

The monk seems sympathetic towards your plight as he smiles apologetically before he begins his explanation "Well... There are a few warring tribes on this island. The Bloodspear Tribe, comprised of goblins, hobgoblins, and a bugbear by the name of Fluffy. Then there is a tribe of Kobolds headed by their shaman named Redwing. They are mostly peaceful. Then there is the Dragonmaw Clan headed by Rogog Dragonmaw the Orc. They all have tribal warfare among each other every now and again for various reasons. We try not to pry into their politics. They attempted to raid us a few times in the beginning while we were first building the Monastery. After we began healing their injured the attacks ceased. Each faction seems to have an unspoken rule that we are untouchable by their 'wars'. That is, until recently. We do not know why but Fluffy has apparently ordered the Bloodspears to attack our monastery almost exclusively. There have been no orcs or kobolds heading here for healing in some time. I was... Well I was hoping that whoever Jinoichi brought would be able to help defend the monastery for a bit. Maybe drive off the goblins a few times until they lose interest."

"Isotini. I am Brother Isotini G-"

"Anyway, Brother, how often do these Goblin attacks occur?"

"Once every few days..."
Isotini seems rather confused about Grey's interruption.

"From where do they normally come from? Like, do they come from a particular direction most of the time or is it random?"

"They come from their encampment near Bitter-Root Falls. It is a days walk from here. More specifically, for what you are asking I assume, they are coming from the east."

Giving a questioning side-long glance to the Captain, Vicnan says "If you'll excuse me Brother Isotini, I must attend to my master." He's goes in search of the library.
